O2 and upgrades

Hi

This is just a question, not sure if I want to do this.

I have a W800 on O2 I have still 5 months to go on the contract. The handset broke a few months ago and I sent it back to be fixed. The replacement handset is still not 100% and I am not happy. I called O2 the other day to see about paying to leave early. They said I could do this and it would cost £100. They also said that I should send my handset back to be replaced again. I am not sure I can go through this again. Last time it took over a week and stressed me out. They also said that they could half my line rental if I was to keep the W800 and extend the contract to 12 months from today.

My question is will they let me upgrade early for a fee?
