Can I use 3G?

I have a phone contract with O2 and have receied an XDA Mini S as an upgrade. To cut a long story short I hate the phone! There's no doubting it does lots of extra stuff but a an actual phone it's very fiddly.

Anyway, I have been looking at phones and lots seem to be 3G - would I be able to use a 3G phone with my current phone account and sim card or does 3G require a more developed sim card or account?

many thanks for any help

Steve

You would need to contact O2... but they do do 3G phones...

DON'T LET YOUR 14 DAY COOLING OFF PERIOD EXPIRE OR THEY WON'T BE ABLE TO HELP YOU.

But yeh... within the 14 days you can return the handset and they'll send you a 3G phone and sim... just give CS a ring... outside it? You're stuck with a cruddy phone.

DAVE.

It is indeed outside the 14 day period - damn. On eBay it goes. I'm wishing now I hadn't given my Samsung D600 to my little bro for his b'day - he's only 11, it'd break his heart to have to give it up. I'll use my D500 for now.

Any opinions on the best non 3G phones around?

Right... what can be done is this... if you contact O2 and ask for a 3G sim they should be able to send you one for £10... after that you need to sort out a 3G phone enabled for O2... but you need to weigh up if it's worth the bother of tracking one down/messibng about with the software on a 3 mob...

The 2G I like at the minute is the W810i... much better looking than the original W800i... downside is it's a SonyEricsson (not a big fan of anything sony after the debacle with my J5 a few years back)
