anyone know when it will be available. Orange website says 'coming soon' but I have noticed the 6280 has been 'coming soon' for months now. Anyone have a definitive date?? cheers

I'd like to know myself, I'm thinking of upgrading my W800i to this. I prefer the Nokia phones over the SE ones.

Hopefuly before the end of this week according to some shops.

I called cust serv and they said everything was in place, prices, support, back up, but they said the shops would have a better idea.

The shops say as soon as they come in they'll be on sale.

Fingers crossed it'll be soon.

Cancelled my contract with O2 today so I hope it's out on Orange within a month.

O2 didn't even offer to upgrade me to it, they offered me a W810i which isn't a bad thing but I've had six SE's now and I fancy a change.

Being trying both Orange upgrades on 150, and the Orange shop in Meadowhall - both saying due this month, but they don't have any firm date for it.

Noticed that it's on the orange website as coming soon for new pay monthly, but nothing for upgrades... in which case I'll probably cancel and give o2 a try.

The reason people are having trouble getting hold of them is because of a delay due to a software problem. The phone should be in stock at O2 by the 17th... but some customers on preorder have already started to receive theirs.

Other operators will have been working on a similar timescale.

I wouldn't trust their info to be that accurate, they list the item as "limited stock" on their site, implying they have some but not many. Of course in reality they have none!

I waited an age for a 7610 off them a couple of years back, in the end I kept checking in the Orange Shop and got it from them before OSPS could post it.

Another update in case anyone cares.

The Orange website now lists the N80 as being available, from £49.99. New contracts, not on upgrade section.

Phoned 150 and they said they didn't even realise but usually new phones will be new contract for 2-5 working days then be available on upgrade so looks like it'll be around sometime next week!

Just come off the phone with Orange(Customer services/Disconnections) and they told me that the N80 was still not available, with no release date??Told the young lady that it's showing on the ORANGE WEB SITE as being available NOW.She then tried to complete the order and computer would now allow it.She said that she would ring me back today or Monday once she got more information.Told her that i was disappointed that Orange was only looking after New Customers and not existing Customers

just got off the phone to orange customer services as well..

they informed me it hasnt been launched yet, so I told them that its on their site for £49.99 to new customers, she then said it hasnt been launched, asked her if she would like to view thier website which clearly shows it has been launched for new customers. Again she said it may well be on there but it hasnt been launched and it will come some time this month..

Really peeved off with thier attitude to customer service at the moment.

Yes your right, Orange is taking the p**s with it's existing customers.I have just phoned Orange again, pretending to be a NEW Customer and was told that the phone had been released this morning and WAS Available. Obviously Orange is only interested in New Customers and existing customers take SECOND PLACE.

After seeing it on the website I phoned one of the stores, they're still pleading ignorance saying it isn't out yet. I appreciate that they can't do much about it but for a company the size of Orange you'd have thought that one hand could talk to the other a bit better. Why not launch it online and in store at the same time for exisiting and new customers? Either that or not at all.

The girl on customer services this morning said that with previous popular handsets in store they have been physically unable to offer upgrades as they had so many new customers wanting them they ran out of stock. Obvious where the bonuses come from then - quick clue: it isn't from existing loyal customers.

**UPDATE**

Just got off the phone with Orange 150 again as I was gonna cancel my contract, a very very nice lady on the other end said all first stock went to new customers and they will be putting the phone on upgrades within the next couple of days.. she said that she will call me back on Tuesday and see what we can sort out. She also said that they were trained up the other day on the N80, N91 and nokia gave them a sneek peek at other phones coming out soon, which in her words were all very smart!!

Hopefully she will call me back, fingers crossed!

To be honest, that's the impression that I got too. Still, it kind of sucks that they don't implement it across the board for new and existing customers. I've been with Orange since 1999!!!!

Orange Shop Arndale Centre Manchester - display model on the shelf, just waiting for stock - next couple of days on new contract and upgrade.

Orange Shop St Ann's Square Manchester - no display model, reckons stock amounts will be small, larger stores and retail parks more likely to get em in.

Just ordered from Orange online.

Not a bad deal really. £50 for the phone, 200 x net calls, 100 3g mins, 100text and insurance for £30 per month.

Only downside is 18 month contract and I get bored very quickly so lets hope something better doesn't come along in the next year!

Hopefully should have it by Tuesday.

Fingers crossed

Just ordered N80 on new contract from Orange over the phone. Was gonna order online and rang to check stock etc (after reading this thread) and they said it can take up to 2-5 days to process order from their website and all stock was likely to be gone by then.

So I ordered over the phone and they said delivery Tuesday.

Currently an Orange customer but couldn't be bothered to wait for my allowed upgrade on the 30th of May and didn't think it would be less than £50 which I paid for it today (On exactly the same tariff I have at the mo) (And I wanted a new number so don't get harrased by ex friends )

Just about to order a 1gb Mini-SD card for it.

Ordered mine with Orange Direct online on Friday as a new customer, £49 for the phone, £50 a month (500xnet, 500 txt, 12month con, Orange care) delivery due Tuesday.

I can't help myself when a new phone comes out, I've already got a 6630, 6680, N70, V3X, M5000 and a C600. I think I have an addiction.
