Pay As You Go Smartphone/Alternatives?

Sorry if this has been answered before,

I'm in the market for a new phone, and would rather it not be a contract one.

The one that caught my eye was the T-Mobile Sidekick II, but that seems to be only available on contract, and I'm guessing that having it unlocked for use with a PAYG sim would limit the features greatly (or would using a T-Mobile PAYG SIM work?).

What are the best alternatives (Smartphone, etc.) currently out there on Pay As You Go tariffs? Preferably with WiFi access built in.

Or if there are none available, are there any that can be unlocked and used Pay As You Go with full features?

Thanks in advance.

Anyone?

Another question: Is the MDA Vario/Vario II or any of it's variants like the XDA Mini S available on Pay As You Go?

hi mate all the mda/xd varients are known sim free as imate or qtec

theres loads matey so do a google. theres the k jam thats good with wifi prob about £450 but this is more than just a phone as u know.
iv got a qtec 9000 aka tmoble mda pro/xda exec/mate jasjar/spv m5000

all of these phones are made by one company called htc and rebranded for networks o simfree.

keep an eye out on here in the clasifieds for xda's/spvm2000, i sold one not long go, good lil devices with built in wifi and slide out keyboard, prob pick one up for £100-£200 depending on condition and acesories.

dont worry about what network these are on as these can be unlocked free using a programme it runs itself.

i also know orange are doing a cheap payg windows smart phone about £100 on line take a peak at the orange website, cant remember the model number but its a smartphone rather than pda with built in phone, but still good lil device but no wifi

Would all of the features still be available if I were to use a Pay As You Go SIM?

I know some phones features (like the Sidekick II) are network/tariff dependant, so ifI were to buy an unlocked SDA, could I simply put in a PAYG SIM and use all the features?

all features will work! only things like push to talk may no work (not properly available yet anyhow)

all features apps etc are on phone and nothing to do with ur tarriff except of course video calling which as long as u have a 3g payg even that will work.

im using payg in my qtec 9000 (mda pro/xda exec) and thers nothing i cant do that contract customers can
