Post Switching from Vodafone to 02 ?

Im thinking of upgrading to the new LG KG800 and I'm with CPW on a Vodafone tariff at the moment. Their loyalty team can't offer me as good a deal as I can get on an 02 tariff with CPW. I need to keep my number so need to go through the palarva of getting a PAC number (need to do this by post now!!)

I've always been with Vodafone and wanted to know if anybody has any pros/cons about switching from Vodafone to 02, with regards to network connectivity, call costs etc.

Appreciate any thoughts.
Thanks
Mark

I've just done the same gone from vodafone to O2, just ring up vodafone and they will arrange for a pac code to sent to you within 5 days. you can do that before your contract expires.

When you get your pac it is valid for a month, i think. Then you get your new contract with O2 at first you will get a new number. I had to go online to tell O2 I've got a pac code, you have to enter some details online, then you will get a letter saying what day the change will take place, and volia...it's pretty easy really, might not sound it but it is...:-)

Thanks for that. When I spoke to Vodafones loyalty people at CPW, they said I had to write in for it. So I rang them back a while ago and said I want my PAC number and the guy goes out his way to offer me the phone I want without really changing my tariff. He said they didn't have any in stock and would call me when some came in and said I could get the phone for free.

I might ring him back and request the PAC number just in case he can't match the deal later down the line. That way it might chase them along to ring me when they get the phones in.

Stay with Voda far better o2 customer care is the worst they will try and screw you one way or another.

Voda is bit more expensive for monthly cost but far better service.

Hi

Started a contract with O2 in October last year. Its an O2 on line contract. I got a W800 with 75mins and 200 text a month for £19.00. However about 4 months into the contract the phone started to give problems. The little joy stick thing would stick. O2 did replace the handset for a refurbished one but they left me without a phone for a week and it was such hard work. Customer service is not great. I also went to New Zealand this year and needed to make a call home. O2 charged me £13.00 for a call to the Uk that would of cost me 75p on Vodafone (Vodafone passport works in NZ).

I get great reception on O2, however when my contract ends I am thinking about taking my number and going to Vodafone.

Just my view.

I left Vodacrap 2 years ago, had no probs with them but hated how they changed the SW etc and everything was linked to Vodafone Live, in those days they stopped you using mp3's as ringtones, tho you can now.
Been with o2 since and I can honestly say I've had no problems.Last year, they let me finish my contract early by 3 months to get a K750i. This year, I rang them last week for my PAC, saying I was going back to Vodafone.I wanted the LG KG800.
Went thro to a guy called Andrew, explained everything, no problems with o2 but wanted a better deal. I was on on the o2 200, 200 xnet anytime mins and 100 txts for £35 per month. If I stayed with them, I was offered 500 anytime, x-network minutes and 300 txts for £20 per month,12 month contract and a free KG800.

Well happy, altho, they don't have any to send out till the 15th May....so I've gone for that.

And, yesterday I ordered a KG800,free on a 12 month contract @ £20 with £50 cashback thro www.onestopphoneshop.co.uk total cost £190, will get that tomorrow, and my upgrade will do for my wifes birthday pressie

Regarding the PAC, I do it every year.....its surprising what you get offered. Always do it the first week of each month....thats when they're trying to reach their targets

What are O2 like for overseas calls, namely when I'm on holiday in France and I want to make calls. What are they like for coverage and cost?

O2 do offer a discount if you add an international bolt on. I think its £3 per month and you must take it for 3 months. However that I think reduces calls from France to the UK down to 50 something pence per min. Still a long way from 75p connection and your local fee, if you use Vodafone passport and make a call on the SFR network.

Angry

triplea4uk, I admit most of my day is spent clearing up other customer service advisor's CRAP... but don't you F***ing DARE to suggest I don't try to do anything for my customers. Because you've had a bad experience that's no reason to berate my job. I try to answer any of the queries on HERE thus far and I'm not even working... because that's only nice (and I'd rather customers not get screwed because I understand that they pay my wages and stressed customers in turn stress me out so I'd rather help them and improve their moods).

I'm done.

Respectfully

Dave.

there was a hole there that would allow that before... but they've actually sorted it now so you can't get two phones on an upgrade... but if you want a better deal when you upgrade all you need to do is threaten to disconnect and you suddenly get a fantastic tariff.
