right well i got it working last night and checked my hotmail and had a play on msn messenger

only thing was that when i disconnected it kept trying to reconnect every 20 seconds or thereabouts

was thinking it was because i hadnt signed out of msn messenger then i looked in task manager and all the programs were still running

does the x button not close programs fully?

that is correct, by design Windows Mobile only minimizes apps when you hit the X (supposedly to speed up opening next time)

google for a free App called "magic button". this can be configured to close all apps when you tap X.

I tend to leave commonly used apps like Phone/messaging & IE open by just exiting them uing the Red hangup phone button then close anything else with Magic button
