New Phone - Samsung D800, Razr V3i or Sony Ericsson PDA

Hi,

I am coming to the end of my contract and am looking for a new phone, something i know little about. For the last 2-years i have had the Nokia 6230 & 6230i, which is fantastic and easily the best phone i have ever had.

I was thinking about getting something different, but the guy in the shop said the Samsung D800 is not as good as the 6230i. I thought also about the Razr V3i as it has had mostly good reviews, but am most interested in getting the Sony Ericsson like the P910i, so i can converge my phone and my PDA. Is it a good phone and would any one recommend it.

Any help would be very appreciated.

Thanks

Sam

The P910i is a fantastic phone, but it's not in production any more. You may be able to find one on eBay or possibly via an independent retailer but all of the operators have stopped selling it. If you do find a P910i, it'll probably be very cheap for a PDA phone though. Orange were selling it for £150 SIM free before finally discontinuing it.

This is because it's soon to be replaced by three new Sony Ericsson PDA phones - the P990 (direct successor, due out May), M600 (Blackberry-style device, due out April) and W950 (Walkman phone, due out Q3 06).

Thanks guys. I am guessing that the new P990 will cost a bomb when it comes in, so in that case what is a good PDA phone that can act mostly as a phone but also hook up to my outlook calendar?

Also is the Samsung D800 any good. Basically i am looking for a better phone than the 6130i, which i can't seem to find anywhere because its so good, so any suggestions would be great.

Thanks

Sam

i know that the d600 has been one on the most complained about phones when it came out so id be wary of getting a d800 until you know that the firmware is ok

The D800 has a 1.3 Megapixel Camera, it’s display is 2. 12” 240x320 262K Color TFT LCD and some of the key features are
Video Recording and Messaging (MPEG4/H.263)
MP3 / AAC / AAC+ / e-AAC+ / WMA
Bluetooth / PictBridge / Voice Recognition
Dual Speaker (Got this info form inods.com)
But still as suggested by tony79 even I wuld be suspicious about d800 after d600…so!!! Keep this point in mind b4 taking any decesion

With what sort of problems? I haven't come across any negative posts on this forum about it.
I've had a D600 since Nov, my daughter has had once since Dec and no complaints from either of us.

The D600 is a good mobile. Fast ,great camera ,etc. If you are looking for a business type phone- the phonebook may present a problem as it has this Samsung thing- you end up with multiple entires from SIM and the phone memory with no option to hide one or the other- you just have to delete your SIM entires to use the full 11/12 fields in the internal phonebook.
The organiser function is good too but I do not think the phone has a separate notes function.

Still a great phone however- it is not in the same league as the SE 910 or 990 though.

I hve been reading some reviews and most of the people are complaining about the battery life… one of my friend has this fone and has no such problems… and the battery life is quiet good… I think D600 is a good fone altogether.
