Lousy reception inside. Full bars outside.

Our house is part of a complex that has a communal Freeview aerial and satellite dish on our roof that everyone uses.

I can't get a signal in the house except by the back window. Could the gain or something on the Freeview aerial be blocking my signal? It effects all networks even from people who get full bars at the front and back of the house.

My wireless network has no problem bouncing around the house, and the other houses in the complex don't seem to have the same issue, despite the fact that our house is open plan so you'd think our signal around the house would be better with fewer walls!

If there's nothing I can do about it, I was wondering if anyone knew of booster aerials you could get or anything? The only other thing I can think of is a BT car kit attached to my window!

How new is the house? I've just moved into a new house with the same problem - no signal inside, but as soon as I step out of the door, full signal!
I suspect it's something to do with the fact that all of the walls are insulated with foil-backed insulating boards - all this foil is stopping the signal from getting out!
I may be wrong, but it's just a hunch...

Good point..

Hadn't thought of that.. It's a new conversion of an old barn but they have totally redone all the internal walls and plasterboarding. It isn't the same in other houses in the development though which puzzled me.
