Connecting to Vodafone Live with sim free mobile???

Hi,
I have a sim free totally unbranded sony W900i. I am considering buying a phone from Vodafone on a contract, giving the phone to a mate, but keeping the Vodafone sim to put in my sim free W900i.

My question is - will it be possible to connect to Vodafone Live and TV once I have entered the appropriate internet settings?

In theory, it should be easy. Go to the following page and choose 'configurator' (dont you love made up words?!) for the W900i. Then it'll let you choose either pay monthly or PAYG settings and send it to your phone.

In theory. Vodafone staff told me before that it needs to have the Vodafone Live! software. You will be able to browse WAP pages and what not, just not the Vodafone Live! section directly. I would say get it flashed, but that's just stupid.

Then again, those staff could have been wrong.
