Samsung D500 transfering numbers from phone to SIM

My mate has a Samsung D500, which due to the screen being broken, has been replaced by a new phone. He can't seem to get the contacts/numbers off of the phone and onto the SIM. Does anyone have any experience of doing this? Or as an alternative, can anyone think of a way of simply transfering the numbers from the old phone to the new one (the bluetooth has never worked properly on the D500, and the new phone is a W800i).

Just upgraded 2 D500's mine and my daughters and had to get all the numbers off the phone.
You can't transfer the numbers from the phone to the sim, only the other way around.

how about a data cable?
or you can get a new screeen for under £40 then get the numbers you want and sell the phone on working?
