w800i faults

My W800i has developed a number of faults. It keeps turning off and on the display jams sometimes when in walkman mode although the music still plays and when charging it i really have to wiggle the adaptor around and hold it in a certain position to get it to charge. Also the keys are becoming very stiff and the joystick seems to have a mind of its own. The disc2phone software is now saying it cannot be opened and that i should reinstall it. So I deleted it got the cd out tried to install it but I just get an error : DemoShield Run-Time Player has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Has anyone else experienced these problems?

Basically the phone is a lost cause and really starting to do my head in. Who do I go back to get it replaced/repaired? Its on O2 but I didn't buy it directly from them I bought it from www.mobileshop.com So who do I go to ? mobileshop? or Sony ericsson?

If I remember correctly (I once had a phone from mobileshop that went faulty) you should contact mobileshop who will give u a number and ask you to take the phone to a carphonewarehouse store - who will take a look and send it off for repairs if need be. HTH

Sony Ericsson will sort you out. You'll need to post it back to them though

Already tried that and it hasn't made any difference. Have just spoke to Sony Ericsson who will repair it or replace under the warranty which is good news. Only problem is they don't have a repair centre in my area so I have got to send it into them which will take 7-10 working days.

I am just hoping someone that I know has a spare phone that I can borrow.

The W800i has suffered so many faults since release, I have had 2 phones now and both have had corrupted memory slots, this is when you realise that Orange have the worst customer service team ever!
Every time I call I get a different story, where it lies at the moment is I am awaiting a replacement memory card of them but I have been waiting two week :O
Apparently I bought the phone to make calls so they says they have provided that facilty so they dont seem be arsed that the walkman phone I bought does not work as a walkman!!

Anybody having simlar probs please post your progress

in the mean time Orange + W800i =

will be glad to get rid of it nothing but problems. Been a nokia man for years and thought i would switch to SE wish I hadn't. In fact I might just wait for it to be repaired then sell it on and get something else.

Its swing and roundabouts with phones, some are rock solid and some are well flaky and unreliable and that goes for all manufacturers inc nokias.
So i guess as the se's been so popular you gota expect a few going tits up.

I've had a K750 and a W800i. On my 3rd W800i now. First two had major issues. The one I had now seems a lot better with a stronger build to it. Helps that I work for a phone shop and pestered the Sony Ericsson rep

Had a my histroy with SE has been right back from the T68m days

Had T68m T68i T610 T670 K700i K750i and finally W800i all have been good for me

Nokia however whole different story drop one and they fall apart and crack

Have also had good experiances with Samsung(T100, D500), Motorola(v60, v600, v3) and Panasonic(X70 and X700)

this companies are well known for there innovation where nokia just pumps out loads of crap handsets with the same old VGA cameras
