Stick with the higher end HP models and you'll be fine. if your looking to synch a lot of data aim for one with at least a 400Mhz CPU and 128mb storage. Also make sure that you don't get fobbed off with an older model running Win Mobile 2003 as it use volatile strorage ( when your battery dies you lose all your data)

Win Mobile 5 uses persistent storage so if you lose your battery your data is safe (as it writes to ROM not RAM).

Wi-Fi is handy as well folr a bit of free web browsing from unsecured Routers.

If you budget £300 for the PDA this will give you £100 for a 2Gb SD card for extra storage. £50 on top of the pakage will buy you a Bluetooth GPS receiver as well for SatNav (assuming you already have some software)

Just a last thought have you thought about going for a combined PDA/Phone?

The HTC Universal/O2 EXEC/Orange M5000 would fit the bill a treat
