Contract Renewal from orange

I am currently out of contract with orange but they seem to charge alot for any of the newer phones when they are free for new customers. Has anyone been able to get a decent phone for free as an upgrade from them?

yep, I bullied an SPV M1000 out of them last year. As long as you spend £35+ a month. When you ask for your handset for free and they say no, just ask to be put through to cancellations . Cancellations will do pretty much anything to hold onto you. Just tell them that the phone you want is free to new customers (it's even better if O2, T-mobile etc do it free too). Don't get stroppy and sound very grateful when they let you have it as sometimes they'll throw in a few minutes/text free as well.

as advised above, just say youre going to leave em, dont be too hasty though because dependent on the person you talk to they might just tell you to leave, but be nice to person at the other end of the phone because they have the power!! good luck

The name of the department ure after is called retensions! Its true upgrade prices have gone through the roof at the moment so before you phone have an idea of what phone you want and even pick a plan from another network that youd like, its always worth a try and the worst they can say is no.

Great Job, phoned orange asked to upgrade to the N70, they wanted 149.99 for it! I quoted another deal to them and they put me through to retentions, got the phone for 4.99 in the end! Definately pays to be nice to the people you get on the phone

I quoted a 3 contract, pick one out of the back of a newspaper and they didn't match it exactly but they did a good enough deal, I was in the band 2 for uprades, so I was told in one of the orange shops a while ago if that makes any difference
