Nokia 6270 - Vanished Into Ether?

I've been due an upgrade for number of months, sweet reward for giving o2 my monthly subscriptions whilst they do their annual 'mask and cape' routine!

I didn't fancy either of the SE K750i/W800i models, nor the recent nokia's, and clamshell mobis should only be kept in a handbag! Imagine my joy when i found the new 6270 from Nokia. The gizmometry of the recent sony's but from nokia (my preferred brand). The O/S is symbian s40 too so its not too clever for me either.

I first saw the phone on the nokia website in nov, now into Jan and no sign of any operators adopting. I've seen that o2 & vodafone are to offer its 3g oriented sister the 6280, but i'd rather have the 6270 for its music.

Anyone know if the 6270 will be widely availible and if so when.

That's the quad-band GSM one, isn't it?

Just a guess, but it could be more aimed at the US market...

I was of the opinion that it was a music-entertainment orientated phone, differing from the 6280 which is the 3g model with two cameras etc.

Perhaps i'm wrong.
