Joys of 12 month renewal - advice appreciated!

Hi guys,

My O2 contract is up as of 3 days ago, although they decided not to notify me in any way.

I've been on O2 100 @ £25 and its worked out just fine for me.

I want a new phone with a decent camera and the ability to use Outlook. I did a bit of research a while back and the Nokia N70 seems to be the one. Is there any other phones I should be looking at? e.g. N80, k600i?

I've been comparing contracts between Orange and 02. On Orange I can get the N70 for free, and 200 mins/ 100 txts for £25, which in total = £300 for a 12 month contract.

I phoned 02 to tell them this, and they offered to up me to 200 mins/ 100 txts for £15 a month, but I need to pay £79.99 for the N70 which in total = £260 for a 12 month contact, and I get to stay with the same network and avoid the network/number swapping. Seems okay to me.

Should I consider any other contracts or phones that will have both a good camera and can sync Outlook with my PC?

Any help is mucho appreciated!

O2 Upgrade

Not sure if you are O2 or O2 online. I am with O2 online and upgraded just before Christmas. Initially they offered me either a new phone or £100 off my bill. I was on £30 per month 300 minutes + 100 txts. I told them about an offer I saw with '3'. Can't remember the exact details but my new deal with O2 is £15 for 500 minutes + 100 txts and a new phone. I had a choice of about 4 phones for free - don't ask me why but decided to go with the new O2 smartphone (steer clear, a load of rubbish).

But anyway the point of the story, don't accept the first offer from 02, push them as far as you can - tell them you are happy with them, but are looking to cut costs and can do that by moving to a different network.

I just took my phone into one of the shops, and told them I thought my contract was near the end. They let me upgrade to a K750i 4 weeks early, and gave me double minutes and texts for 6 months on the 100 minute/100 text £25 pm deal. All very easy, and I'm happy. O2 shop staff seem to be pretty good, on the whole.

I just ordered my new phone from O2;

- Nokia N70 for £79.99!

But I get my tariff upgraded;

- from 100mins/100txts @ £25
- to 500mins/100txts @ £15

I still have 14 days to decide, can I push for more?

Well O2 have cocked up already - even though the system said it was instock, apparently it wasn't, as I've recieved an email telling me the N70 won't be sent until they are back instock.

I ordered the phone on the basis that I needed it delivered to my current address by Friday/Saturday, as I'm 200 miles North from Monday onwards and collecting it will be a pain in the arse - and I'm taking a wild guess that changing a delivery address for an existing order will be an absolute nightmare using O2's CRM systems.

The email told me I could check my order status using the following method;

"Sign in with the username and password you received when you made your purchase and select 'View My Bill', under 'My O2'. Next, select 'View Delivery and Order Details', under 'My Order', and you will be able to check the status of your order."

Has anyone else tried this? I can't find the View Delivery and Order Details section!

What is the O2 disconnections number? I'm gonna give them a call.

Not hard at all really - just tell them that Orange are doing 200mins/100 txts for £25 a month with the phone for free, then they will offer the same tariff for £15.

They were going to do 200mins/100txts for £15, but I told them what dskphoto said about the 500mins/100txts and they said they could do it no probs.
