Why uprade?

That's right. Ive refused to go for a higher spec model in mobile phone after my last one broke.

Do I need all of this 2.0MP videocamcorder rubbish, no.

So I bought one of the legendary Nokia 7110's off of eBay. In total I paid about £12, hehe.

Does anybody else feel like this and actually taken the step of buying an older phone which you wanted at some point, but they were just too damned expensive? hehe..

Maybe I'm having an early mid-life crisis, or maybe I bought the phone so I can pretend to be Neo from The Matrix in front of the Bar staff in a local Nightclub, I dont know...

Not much of a profit though really, once you have paid the line rental you are tied into.

well your better off just getting the phone, you either sell the phone and make some profit or you sell the phone and pay for your line rental.

your still better off, have more money or have a few months free line rental.

Does anyone use MMS though, really?

When I took pictures on my SE K700i, I just bluetoothed em to my PC and emailed the pictures instead...

Glad someone bought this up...

When I joined Mercury in 1995 I bought an Ericsson PH337 along with my Bronze contract. In 2005 I was told I was eligible for a free upgrade as I had not previously requested one - and they reccomended a Motorola (folded in half). I gave it my best shot, but it seemed filled with needless features that are implemented to boost the 'phone company's revenue rather than help the user. Downloadable ringtones (£3 a pop), picture messages (why???) and a devious text 'feature' that allows you to go one or two letters over the one text limit, doesn't tell you, and then charges you for TWO texts !

Add to this list: Fiddly buttons, over complex menu, irritating ringtones, clumsy folding design and cheap, creaky build and you can see why I sold it in under two weeks on *Bay .

The PH337 has an alloy chassis, resonsive buttons, easy text and good sound (thanks to B&O earpiece and mike) along with bombproof software and I now use this again as my main 'phone. People have a laugh - sure "look at that old brick" they say, but the amount of flimsy silver phones they get through while the old skool blowers are still chugging on without a problem tells the real story.

I see no reason to believe that my PH337 will not be still working in 2015...

To sum up - don't throw out your old 'phone when you upgrade - you may be glad you diddn't (I was).

Ian
