Unlocking D500

Anyone used this site and know what I'd have to do to unlock the Samasung D500? There is a file I have downloaded at the bottoom but I don't know what to do.

Also, is it legal?

its not illegal to unlock your phone (although you maybe using some cracked s/w to do it from there)
you would also need the correct cable to unlock, and you can get another cable to reflash the phone to remove the branding as well
i use d500 winimei to unlock but if you not confident then i would either get soemone to do it for you or get a clip which plugs into the phone and you wait a few secs then its unlocked, then sell the clip on to someone else. clip is about £15

Hi,

I'm trying to unlock a d500 with winimei v1.07 and cable with battery but i'm having problems...

When i switch the phone on i just get the first samsung logo screen stuck on with the backlight flashing on and off every few seconds. I can enter TAT mode and read the imei no problem but it fails after writing.

I have read somewhere that you also need the Bluetooth ID to re-write the imie. Is this the case? All i want to do is unlock it from its current network.

Can someone please explain or point me in the direction of some help.

Thanks

you dont need to rewrite the imei as i hope you havent changed it.
connect to phone and enter tat and select rd imei setting, this will read the lock code.
you then disconnect phone and put in a sim it doesnt work on then enter the lock code - i think its the 2nd set of numbers along on the network lock line on winimei but it may be the 3rd.
i never had any luck with direct unlock on winimei and found above way works everytime

Hi, i got the lock code from the network lock line using winimei but how do i enter the code?

I have disconnected from the cable and put a vodafone sim in (phone locked to Orange) powered up and get the first Samsung logo screen and enter the code but nothing happens. I have also tried to enter the 3rd set of digits from the network lock line but nothing seems to work, it just stays on the first screen with the backlight flashing.

What am i doing wrong?

Thanks

when you put the voda sim in, it should say something like "enter password" or "network lock"
from memory, i think you then put the code in and maybe press the dial button(?)
ive not had the backlight flashing before, but i notice you had this earlier?
does it work ok on orange still? if not it may need reflashing

no mate i don't think it does still work on orange.

I doesn't say anything when i put the voda sim in, it just diplays the Samsung logo screen with the flashing light - can't get it to do anything.

How do i reflash the phone?

this should give you everything you need to know
http://forums.mobiledia.com/topic29450.html

you will need a different cable - best get the usb one as its much quicker
and make sure battey is fully charged before flashing (charge in another phone if you have to)
just to flash one phone may be cheaper to let someone else do it who already has the correct stuff

Unlock your Samsung without a cable.
This worked for my phone, and it seems like it should work for most Samsungs from what I've seen.

1. Turn off your phone, put in a SIM of a provider that it is not locked to, and turn it back on.
2. At the wrong card message, type *#9998*3323#. A message will pop up telling you to press exit, so hit the right softkey. Choose number 7 (or 8 or 9 work, I think). Your phone will reboot and your SIM will work.
3. Type *0141# and then hit call. This will give you a message saying your phone is personalized.
4. Power down your phone and insert a SIM card other than the one that is in it. Power back up your phone.
5. At the SIM code prompt type 00000000, that is 8 zeroes.

Your phone should now be unlocked. At least mine seems to be. Let me know how it goes.
I GOT A HOLD OF THIS LAST WEEK TO UNLOCK MY WIFES D500 BUT HAVENT TRIED IT YET SO DONT KNOW IFIT WORKS YET. I,LL TRY TOMORROW AND LET YOUS KNOW. AS I SAID I HAVENT TRIED THIS YET FOLKS SO TRY IT YOURSELF AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Re: Unlocking D500

the only working code for d500 is #*7337#
and that only worked on the first ones
you can get an unlock clip for £10 and do it yourself in 3 secs then sell the clip again

If you give me a pm I may be able to help you out with a clip. I hope that this isn't against forum rules.

Re: Unlocking D500

depends, if you are just offering to send him a clip free of charge then i guess its ok providing the phone isnt stolen...

if you want to sell or trade the clip then please go down to the trading forums, cheers. (i assume its allowed to sell them here, although it may not be, not sure where things lie in respect to our trade forums and phone unlockers....perhaps ask one of the trading forum mods before you post a thread)

amend your above post as so neil, ta
