The hell of buying a new phone (K750i/w800i)

Hi.

I have been looking into buying a 750i for a long time now but have been waiting for the price to drop. I am after it for under £200 payg but it hasn't dropped in price in months. Do you reckon there will be a price drop soon or can you geet it for this already?

Also, Is the 800i really worth getting if your not going to use the MP3 player function on it?

Many thanks in advance, Pez.

CPW are meant to be doing the k750i for £180 on o2 and lxdirect do it slightly cheaper for £170 and theres a £20 off voucher floating about which will get it down to £150 but they were out of stock when i last looked.
Not sure about prices for the fisher price-esque w800i.

And that is based on what exactly???

AFAIK it is the same phone with a different skin and different media player software.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

The only differences between the W800i and the K750i is the look of it, and the software. There's no difference in build quality. Packaging wise, the W800i comes with a 512 card instead of a 64 one, plus better headphones and a 35mm adapter for your own headphones.

It just 'feels' more solid than the k750i. I have both,k750 for work, w800i for leisure.
And 'Chrislad' has said the rest.

I work in a phone shop and I can't really see/feel much difference between the two. In fact, I'm comparing right now as I have a w800i and my brother has a k750i (which is flashed to a w800i, so they're the same phone more or less), and both have the same weight to them and the same feel.

Unless the earlier batches were different, I don't know.

Build quality is terrible on my k750i, was part of the first batch. Joystick only works when it feels like it, creaks terribly as well.I've also flashed it to the w800 FW, so cannot return the phone under warranty.
Where as my w800i, much better, ams as you said the sound quality of the headphones is a improvement as well.
Decided to steer clear of the SE phones....for now :-)

Will wait til 'Apple' release a phone I'm getting a o2 xda mini delivered thursday......that'll do till then. The deal I'm getting from www.mobiles.com on o2;s best for business is class......if the website is correct 2 for free, £11.91 each per month, 12 month contract.
Chrislad......does this sound right ???

1. The url you've posted is wrong. Should be www.mobiles.co.uk
2. The offer you've gone for is line rental only. No minutes and no texts included. But yes, two phones for £11.91 each per month for 12 months.

Hi there.

As has already been said, you can get the K750i from LXDirect for £170 but the delivery time is 4 weeks or so. Dont know about any discount codes for them.

You can get the K750i from any CPW store on o2 PAYG for £189.99 with £10 credit. The phone is Sim Free GSM stock. I bought one on Wednesday!

As to W800i or K750i, its up to you. Main differences apart from the colour scheme are the W800i's camera lens cover, the dedicated walkman button replacing the 'activities' button on the K750i (I find this button very useful on mone) and a slightly different music player that handles playlists and titles better than the K750i's - this is really only a factor if you are going to stick a Gig MS Duo in it and use it for your main music player.
Also, the w800i comes with a 512MB mem stick as opposed to the K750i's 64MB one and better handsfree / headphone option.
But you can purchase both of the above seperately for a k750i if needed.

Hope that helps
