Wife has a Motorola V220. I bought her a "Handset Manager - USB data suite " so she can copy photographs to PC.

I seem to have installed the software but the software gets stuck at the "trying to access mobile phone" page.

Running Windows XP.

Also, is there any way to use to mobile as a UBS stick so I can just copy pictures to PC?

had the same problem with my sony version. tried all updates for software and handset . resolved the problem by getting a bluetooth dongle for the pc..convert,alter anything you want with the software-save and then send it though bluetooth.
