| 3 Upgrade contract misinformation-£150 higher cost ?
In November I phoned 3 to give 30 days notice to end my 12 month contract as did not want to start paying full £30 a month. As expected I was offered a phone upgrade a various offers which I refused and then the salesman made a 'to good to be true offer' which I thought was their last ditch effort to keep me as a customer. If I took out an 18 month deal it would cost me £9.99 a month for 12 months, in month 13 I'd receive a £150 credit to my account when the monthly rate would be £30 for the last 6 months ie £5 a month. I carefully recited this back to the salesman who confirmed what I have written above. I asked for details in writing and he said this would arrive with the phone and I'd have 7 days cooling off period.
Phone arrived but no written contract details - I phoned 3 requesting details and this arrived but was completely different. I pay £30 a month and in month 13 I receive the £150.12 cashback which equates to the £9.99 over the first 12 months. I therefore pay £180 over months 13-18 instead of £30.
3 were adamant that I had misheard their salesman which I explained I clearly had not. I said he did not understand what he was selling...
I then said under the 7 days cooling off I'd like to cancel the contract but was told the 7 days was from receiving the phone upgrade not the contract letter.
I also said that my 12 month contract ended on December 7th and as I was complaining on Dec 9th I was within 7 days of the new contract starting - again no success.
I was speechless and after 15 minutes of speaking to various people was left with no choice but to make my complaint in writing
Anyone else had similar experiences,
Who else can I complain to ?
