"Flashing" my K750i to make it like a W800

Hi

I was in my local phone shop recently and was told that the can "flash" my K750i to make it work internally like a W800 for about £30. They are basically the same phones (but I prefer the more business like look of the K750) I know but has anyone had this done and if so, does it work OK afterwards??

Cheers,

Simon

I haven't had it done but i know of people who have and yea it works fine. Suprisingly it works just like a W800i!!

Mechanically they're identical, just with different case and firmware.

the phone is exactly the same inside
the only difference is the housing/mem card size/headset and the firmware.
you can upgrade it your self with a credit from here and the correct cable
http://www.totalserver.net/
you can get the cable from here for £24.95
you can prob get the cable set cheaper (about £15 if you look around)
http://www.premiergsm.com//cat--Tota...rver--tms.html
the credit is £8 and if you want to unlock it as well you would need another credit
you can alway sell the cable set on afterwards
£30 is a bit much really as he will be getting the credits cheaper in bulk
£15 would be a fair price

Thanks for the replies

The W800i has more music features & can be used as a stand alone music player by selecting this on startup.

Before I get this done, I need to get my phone camera function fixed (see other post)

Cheers,

Simon

I'll vouch for these guys....had a v800 flashed to z800. Brilliant service.

The only real difference, bar the obvious styling, is the walkman branded menu and options. Seen as a lot 'cooler'/more desirable. A mate of mine flashed his k750 to w800 and got original w800 covers...so it is now a w800. Good handset, prefer the w900 tho
