Phone + MP3 player

Hi,

Can anyone recommend a phone that has expandable memory (1gb or more) , will play MP3s and is relatively small.

Here are the phones that ive considered already -
d500 - no expandable memory
7610 - too big really
6230 - ive seen some bad reviews
sendo x - not sure if too big, cant find in any shops

Cheers,
Rich

the best for its price for the features that you want (except the bit about it being small ) is the motorola e680. 50M with 1GB SD card expandable. mega-fast processor, 3D stereo sound with twin speakers.

Thanks for your help, at least you realised that them phones are large!

I guess my main priority is the memory upgrade + size. Id like to use it as a mp3 player for exercise and connecting to my car head unit.

I may go for the 6230 as it does fit these 2 requirements, or i may wait and see whats released in the next few months.

Does anyone out there use there phone for mp3s while exercising?

anyone know of some good phones coming out soon, i like the look of the samsung d710 but cant find any exact dates for it.

Rich

I have got a Nokia 6230 and the only bad thing I could say is that only about twice since I have had it (about 4 months) the phone has just turned itself off for no reason.

It's a good phone but I only have a 32mb card in it so it limits the amount of media I have on the phone and the quality is good through the one speaker but sounds better through hreadphones

regarding the p910i it is a quality phone with expandable memory, but as far as i know it can only take a 128mb pro duo card and not the 1gb that hogwash said

please correct me if im wrong as it would save me buying two 128 cards

Re the P910i and DUO memory size, I believe it can handle more than 128MB. There seems to be a lot of discussion on this issue over at...

http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic...37#post1073262

Looking forward to trying it all out myself. Got to admit the 910i is a wonderful piece of kit.

I think i may go for the 6230.

There seems a lot of happy people using it as an MP3 player here -

I just wished i could have something a little more powerful for its size.

SPV C500 plays mp3's very well. Also with betaplayer installed and using DVD to Mobile you can fit and watch entire movies on your phone.

I have Matrix Reloaded, AvP and a couple of albums on my 512Mb miniSD. Room for more also.

Well, I ordered my 6230 from singlepoint yesterday (£23 - 100 min + 100 text) on a 18 month contract (not happy about).

Just looked on orange website and can get spv c500 for £27pm 200min + 500 text on a 12 month contract.

Im seriously thinking about cancelling and going with orange cause id prefer that phone, i think.

What does everyone think is best, 6230 or spv c500 as i dont mind paying the extra for more minutes and better phone.

Things to consider -
spv is a smartphone
similar dimensions
6230 is popular
both can play mp3s. but can get extra software for spv yes?

Could anyone tell me what happens when you take out the sim card from the sony P910i? do the other functions remain working? (like phonebook, mp3 player etc), also what is the biggest (in capacity) card that the phone can take? (and where to get it from at a good price?)

any info would be greatly appreciated.

cheers

Pabel
