6230 bluetooth

Hi,

I have a new bmw 535 with the integrated bluetooth car-kit installed by bmw. My old phone the 6310 connects perfectly with the carkit and i can view the phonebook on the dashboard easily, however my new phone the 6230 will allow me to make calls recieve calls through the bluetooth but the phonebook wont come up on the dash for me to select a name and call. Is there any software i am supposed to download to allow the phone to work properly in the car?

I hope someone can help.

Thanks

The phone book transfer of the 6230 will not work with the kit in the BMW. I had the same issue and have contacted both Nokia and BMW support lines who typically just blame each other.

I changed to the Sony Ericsson T630 for this reason as this is fully supported within the BMW.

I have come to the conclusion that Nokia seem to be the main problem as I have a Nokia bluetooth 610 kit in my wife's car that works with her Nokia 6230 (my old one) and will not work at all with my T630. Defeats the object of having bluetooth kits in both cars so that we could swap cars when necessary.

Check out www.bmw.co.uk/bluetooth
for a list of compatible phones.

It is a very poor effort if you ask me but I cannot seem to get any joy out of anyone.

regards

Andrew

Hi

If you follow the link you shall see that the problem is solved
http://bluetoothcar.typepad.com/main...re_update.html

I have updated the software of my Nokia 6230, in the meantime the update version is now 05.26…21-12-04, and now everything works perfectly with my BMW

I hope you didn’t sell your phone?

best of luck!

Wow, I'm shocked !!!!

My faith in Nokia is restored !

However despite having a logged issue with BMW and Nokia about this no one bothers to inform me.

Thanks

Andrew

Although it works I have heard that when SMS pile up you have to erase them from all the message boxes because if you dont it keeps disconnecting and reconnecting.
