MP3 Ringtones

I'm after a new phone and all I really want is a phone that'll play MP3s as a ringtone without having to faff about converting the files. To make matters worse I'm on pay as you go on Orange. What phones should I be looking at and where's the best place to buy them?

Ta

Neil

Motorola V3- ROCKS! Don't want to faff about? This bad-boy comes with a straight forward USB cable, that plugs straight into your PC and you can then drag'n'drop files (Pix or MP3s) onto your phone. Also, if you download your own MP3s you can convert sections of it (i.e the cool "ringtone" bits) and save them as small files. This can be done really easily with iTunes (Google it). In terms of volume, it it the loudest phone I have ever heard, I'm actually embarrassed when I get a text! You can allocate any MP3 to ringtone or message alert. Also, it's quad band, made of Aircraft aluminium, Video (playback) 2 colour screens, and it's 13mm thick! (Thinnest phone on the planet!) It is ridiculously cool, just read all the reviews!

SPV C500 on PAYG orange has got to be one of the best phones about IMHO (of course, i own one on contract, so am a bit biased )

Doesn't actually take MP3s directly as ringtones, but any WMA or WAV files on the phone or the memory card can be used as ringtones, message alerts etc.. With 3rd party (free) software, will play divx files etc too. Also has msn messenger and pocket internet explorer - what more do you want! Well, that's all i use anyway!

Edit: I just realise i actually use the MP3/WMA player part so much more than the phone i forgot to mention i do use the phone part aswell......

Plus it syncs natively with outlook, can even sync over the net if you set active sync up properly, awesome!

SE K700i. I just cut sections out of my MP3 tunes and synch across from the PC using bluetooth. The K700i has a media player and 40Mb storage so you could use whole tunes if you wished.

Don't buy anything Vodafone branded as you won't be able to use MP3's as ringtones.

K700i seconded. I currently have The prodigy, faithless, stressed eric and Vicky Pollard!!! loaded as ringtones. Created from CD's, ripped to MP3 using CDex and then piped across using Bluetooth.
