Battery life conspiracy

I swear i am losing it here, i am approaching the end of my contract and i knew the date that i could upgrade my phone with orange(1st march).

It must have been the day before i could upgrade, i was looking at my screen and noticed where the 3g symbol is, i saw little symbols coming up as though it was transferring data or something. I never use my n96 for the internet.

Ever since that happened my battery last barely a day and a half. before this it must have lasted maybe 4 days.

I am thinking orange send something to your phone to make the battery drain faster making you consider upgrading.

This happen to anyone else or am i wildly wrong here?

I think you are wildly wrong.

If you describe the symbol that appeared and where it appeared in relation to 3G I'm sure someone can tell you what it means.

you must work for orange!

never seen the symbol before, just think it's weird how just as i am eligible for an upgrade my battery decides to halve it's life.

I also think you're wilding wrong. And I don't work for Orange.

I think it's an unfortunate coincidence. If you're not already using it, get the phone updated to the latest firmware via the Updater in Nokia PCSuite/Ovi Suite.

Your phone, the N96, is notoriously unreliable with battery life being one of many complaints.

What an odd thing to say. I don't work for Orange. Although how that would be relevant I can't guess.

There are lots of us here who answer there questions because we like to help. I think when people are trying to assist you, you should at least answer their questions properly.

I have a theory as to what you are seeing, but without a proper description of the symbol I can't tell if its correct.

This forum is a bit more serious than other sections on av forums. was only having a mild bit of banter, not to worry.

I wasn't really looking for help or any answers, just thought it was an amazing coincidence.

Do you know I wasn't going to revisit this.
I read the post about mild banter and not needing any help, thought to myself 'What sort of person asks a question and then throws around very mild insults and then denies asking' and then 'Why would someone want to do that'

Perhaps I'm taking it too seriously, but I can't help thinking that the OP has wasted my time and others, solely to amuse himself. It never occured to me that I would have to think whether someone is genuine before I spend time trying to assist someone.

It irritated me enough that you are now the first and only person on my ignore list.

think you need to get out more, or stop reading into what i write too much.

insults? dread to think what would happen if someone really did insult you big crybaby.

at least you will never have to read this, ingorance is bliss ay?

edit: oh and thanks to Rob for actually providing an insight into why my phone might be doing what it is doing.
