Home phone with headset socket - who makes one?

Hi everyone and thank you for reading.
I have spent HOURS this week scouring the web, looking for a UK-landline compatible phone with answering machine that has a headset socket.
Ideally this would be the type of headset that can be plugged into a computer as used for skype, but other types would do.
This is for my wife who has a neurological disease and cannot speak very loudly, so an ordinary handsfree phone won't do the job. We already have an adapter bought from Maplin which plugs into the back of the phone, but this
is a bit fiddly and at times she just does not have the dexterity to operate it. If there was an answering-machine phone that accepts a plug-in, binaural headset with microphone that would be ideal.
All suggestions gratefully received.
Many thanks again
Immac

I may have mis-understood. But a quick google found many phones with headset sockets. Including this company Cordless Phone & Headset Packages
BT and Panasonic also sell them. There are even phones that are compatible with Bluetooth headsets.

I had a look at the site, thank you. Is a 2.5mm jack the standard minjack for the kind of headphone socket you get in a computer? If so, that will sort it.

I had been naive enough to think I could just find one on Amazon or at Argos, but they apparently don't do them, or if they do, they don't seem to mention the socket in the details...

Thanks again

I can confirm that the Panasonic KX-TG8421E phones I have can take a headset, as could the previous model I had. But I have never used the headset with these phones so can't say how well it works.
I have used phones in the past with a blue tooth headset as well so know you can get them.

Mark.

No, a PC will most likely have a 3.5mm stereo (3 pole) jack, but the headsets are a 2.5mm 4 pole jack. A PC would have one mono jack for the mic and a separate stereo jack for the headphones. However if you get a Platronics headset from the site linked to above you can also get an adapter cable to use it with a PC - see Here.

Well the Panasonic phones I have can be bought from Amazon etc. It is just that they don't often specify things like a headset jack as most people don't need this.
