Android Apps

With the growth in the number of handsets available and the ever increasing amount of apps being developed for the Android O/S can we have a dedicated forum for Andoid Apps just as we have for the I Phone????

Not sure why the "Android-Apps-Discussion" exists under HTC, as more than one company makes Android phones.

http://www.avforums.com/forums/htc-m...iscussion.html

IMO it makes no sense having an "Android-Apps-Discussion" in each of the HTC, Sony, Motorola, etc areas.
It feels a bit like discussing Dell Windows 7 apps, HP Windows 7 apps etc in the Computer sections.

I vote, free the OS from the handset manufacturer!

But that is, only MY opinion

The Android Apps thread is in the HTC forum as when it was created and even today, HTC is the largest manufacturer of Android phones. It seems the most logical place to put it since most discussion will be on their handsets.

But that said, there is a lot of logic behind creating subforums for Android, Windows Mobile and Symbian software discussion.

As said, I've opened a discussion about it with fellow Mod types

HTC,Huawei,Motorola,Samsung etc are now pumping out the same amount of phones...

The OS is already far superior to the iphone's it would be stupid to not have a separate sub board...

In a years time, Android will be the most popular OS for mobile phones...

Hope the mods agree on its own board.

It's not just a case of the Mod's of this section agreeing, it's also got to fit in with the vision the site Admin and owner has for AVForums and the way they want the forum run.

Rest assured it is being discussed and if the decision is no, it wont be because we didn't listen and discuss the idea
