The reason I would chose a phone is likely to be totally different to why you would chose a phone.

So if you're looking for suggestions and recommendations, it would be worth specifying what you want the phone to do and what your priorities and 'must haves' are.

Actually, I'm looking for reasons why *you* would choose one of these phones over another. Such as djstriker mentioning symbian as a positive which was interesting as I've read that it's dated in comparison to other OS's.

Re: HTC HD2 or Motorola Droid or Sony Ericsson Satio

In that case, I would chose the Droid.

The Satio has nothing to appeal to me. It's big selling point is the camera but since it can't offer the true quality of a standalone camera, it's not going to offer anything more than I have now - a phone and a camera.

The HD2 is a big jump over the HD and WM6.5 is a big jump over WM6.1, the screen is superb and the pure size of the screen makes it very flexible as a multimedia and web device. WM6.5 is much more 'finger friendly' and HTC do a decent job of putting their own UI over the top, which works well.

But for me Android is the best platform. It's as attractive, slick and easy to use as the iPhone OS (the benchmark for all mobile OS's) and the web browsing is on-par with the iPhone too (again the benchmark for mobile web browsing).
Motorola know how to make a decent handset but lost the plot years ago when it came to the software. So putting Android onto Moto hardware is likely to be a winning formula.
All it needs is an ecosystem to rival iTunes/AppStore.

Re: HTC HD2 or Motorola Droid or Sony Ericsson Satio

I voted for HD2 because it IS a Windows Mobile device. I have developed Windows Mobile applications in the past and will continue to do so once I get my hands on the HD2. The gadgetry they've managed to cram into the phone is superb. The 480 x 800 screen is going to be good (I have an X1 and the screen on that is fantastic - albeit broken at the moment ).

I do like the look and feel of the Android operating system BUT I am not happy with a 3rd party holding my information.

Cheers
Moosh

Re: HTC HD2 or Motorola Droid or Sony Ericsson Satio

The two I want is the HTC HD2 and the N900

I think the N900 will be better for playing games and Music
And the HTC HD2 better for videos and web sites.
