T-Mobile "gotcha's" - what are they?

Getting a bit fed up of my HTC Touch Pro2 and wondering if upgrading to an HD2 would cheer me up. If I did, the most obvious way to purchase one would be on contract with T-Mobile: £35 a month, 18-month contract, phone is free, and you get 700 minutes, so-called unlimited texts and so-called unlimited internet. This is a lot cheaper then getting it on contract with O2 or Vodafone, and, indeed, cheaper than getting it SIM-free and sticking with my O2 Simplicity contract.

So, the obvious question is: what's the catch?

Clearly there's no point in asking T-Mobile, because the most important questions are always the ones I don't know to ask! For instance, I heard the other day that T-Mobile blocks certain ports on their Internet service, which means you can't use Windows Live Messenger on their network - is that true? The thing is, it would never have occurred to me to ask T-Mobile "can you use MSN on your network?" because it would never have occurred to me that one might not be able to. Therein lies the danger!

So, in general, what are all the negative points of going with T-Mobile that it wouldn't occur to me to ask about if I hadn't heard of them?

Never had any probs with MSN or any other IM (I use Nimbuzz on my E71 which does VOIP and all major IM networks) but then again I am on the old Max tariff which cost £5 more than W&W and also offers tethering as standard.

I've heard that one of the advantages of the "Max" tarif is precisely that it unblocks the ports that are blocked on standard web'n'walk - but I've never heard any official confirmation of the difference, so I could be wrong.
