Re: New Phone Recommendation!!!!!
my contract is up for renewal and I think I'm gonna go for the Sony X3 (due 3rd Nov), android phone with the same processing power as some netbooks. Worth a look!
Either that or an HTC Hero.
Not sure about the Palm Pre's, I've been warned to stay away from them by several people.

Bad build, annoyingly small keyboard. I had a hands on with one last week and just didnt like it at all.
If i was you i would wait a few weeks and get the HD2 or the N900

Re: New Phone Recommendation!!!!!
See i have pretty fat fingers and found the PRE surprisingly easy to use.......i think the interface is as good as the iphone.....Build quality worries me slightly however, i dont think this is a great issue.
As for the X3 thats not really for me......
HTC Hero....Well i had the G1 and absoluitley hated it!!! i have no doubt that the hero is better and has the new 2.0 operating system??
HD2................mmmmmmm need to research this one a little more...
Any other suggestions guys???
Thanks Again!!!

Re: New Phone Recommendation!!!!!
I'd recommend the HTC HD2 as well. The iPhone 3GS shouldn't be overlooked. I'd also advise keeping a look out for forthcoming high-end Android phones - Sony Xperia X3, Motorola Droid, HTC Dragon, Acer Liquid - and for the Nokia N900.
If the camera is a priority then the Samsung i8910 Omnia HD and Sony Ericsson Satio are worth checking out too.

Re: New Phone Recommendation!!!!!
I have had the glorious opportunity of reviewing the HTC Hero for the company I work for. Great phone, takes some getting use to but once you get the hang of it it's great. If you want to browse the web this might be the phone for you.
Sony Satio is the best on the market at the moment if you take the phone out the choice! Satio would be my choice!

Best in what regards? What makes it 'better' than every other phone? Surely it depends on the intended use?

Re: New Phone Recommendation!!!!!
i would have to agree for me a camera is not essential to be amazing but is required.
i see the Satio as a great camera phone, im looking for an all rounder i.e. interface, texts, internet usage, some music, reasonable camera.
Thanks for all your great comments peeps...Keep em coming!!!

Re: New Phone Recommendation!!!!!
The best platforms for the usage you mention are the iPhone OS and Android. Most of what you list is software based, rather than hardware.
Windows Mobile 6.5 comes very close now and Maemo looks good too, but Android and the iPhone still come out on top.
There are a heap of new Android devices hitting the market now or very soon, so plenty of choice there and if you're dead against the iPhone, that's where I would recommend looking.

Re: New Phone Recommendation!!!!!
i think the thing that holds me back from alot of these phones is the lack of a physical keyboard, i had the first iphone but couldnt manage with the lack of a physical keyboard, i have has since then a G1 (hated it) and a Blackberry Bold both having the physical keyboard.
i think that is why i am so drawn to the PRE as in my opininon it looks cool and has the keyboard whilst not being the best in the world is good enough for me!!!
i havent missed any other physical keyboard phones have i???
if not i think i am going to take the plunge and go with the PRE!!!!

Re: New Phone Recommendation!!!!!
Xperia X2 and Touch Pro 2 are both worth a look if a physical keyboard is a must.
