Quick Question regarding contracts

Ok I had a default with o2 about 4.5 years ago. Had major mix up and settled it the month afterwards.

I'm looking at moving from 3 to O2 (for HD2) but even though my credit rating is good now would I still have problems getting a contract with o2.

It's to difficult to say! A default stays on your file for 6 years and can cause problems. It all depends on O2's criteria too. Did you settle the dispute? If so then you may be able to ask for it to show on your report as satisfied, this would need to be requested by O2 to reflect the payment!

Re: Quick Question regarding contracts

Its showing as satisfied on my credit report. Maybe I should get in contact with o2 around the time. I just dont wa nt to get rejected and would rather go with a different carrier instead of that. Only problem is I always found o2 to be the best. 3 signal isnt the greatest. I know vodafones is good but I've had a vodaphone sim free phone and it was so slow with all their software on it.

I used to work for vodafone so know exactly what you mean about the branding and slow software! In regards to credit checks with O2 I'd make sure you have a copy of your credit report to see of there's anything else which could cause a rejection!

O2 don't have to provide a reason if they do decline you and will ask you to reapply in 30 days! Hope this helps!

Re: Quick Question regarding contracts

No, my phone is on o2 bought through CPW and it is still an o2 contract that you sign and IIRC CPW phone o2 when you are in the shop to confirm that the contract has been accepted by them before you are allowed to leave with a phone.

Mark.

Re: Quick Question regarding contracts

You could still try O2! They make accept you and it shouldn't effect you trying for a contract elsewhere if they do decline you! Each company may have different criteria! I saw no end of complaints when Voda declined a customer but got a straight accept through O2! Just leave it a few days from one company to another! Plus times are hard to gain new customers, so they may have slacked a bit to allow new buisness!
