Question 2 phones to upgrade - suggestions pls?

Hello,

I have a HTC TyTn II on T-Mobile and a Nokia N82 on O2.

I enjoy the 'business-like' features of the HTC (in particular, the ability to plug it into my laptop and have access to the Internet) and the traditional phone features (as well as great camera) of the N82; however, having now had both for well over 18 months I am looking for upgrade ideas.

What I would like opinions on are natural successors to these phones? Provisonally, I am considering the HTC Touch Pro 2 and the Nokia N85 (8MP).

I understand that T-Mobile are not releasing the HTC Touch Pro 2 but it is available 'unbranded' from other places like Mobile Phones Direct, however, what worries me is reading stories of people who have had difficulties when dealing with warranty claims with such companies. Any experiences?

Any suggestions for other phones?

Thanks.

Re: 2 phones to upgrade - suggestions pls?

The HTC Touch Pro 2 is a natural progression from the HTC TyTn2 and is an ideal choice if you want to maintain a physical keyboard. For messaging, it's one of the best bets away from the world of Blackberry.

If you can live without the physical QWERTY keyboard, the HTC Touch HD 2 is another good bet. As is the iPhone 3GS and the HTC Hero.

You'll struggle to better the N82 though, as even the later N series Nokias don't really move the game forward from the N82. Just neater packaging really. Don't be fooled into thinking newer camera phones with higher mega pixel ratings offer better quality either, as the lens quality hasn't improved much since the N82, which still holds it's own amongst the best of the camera phones.

Sony Ericssons new range may appeal if imaging is important. The Satio especially. Again it wont be a night and day difference from the N82 and it certainly wont replace a dedicated camera, but it's a good imaging handset.
