Have an old viewty and looking to upgrade to similar!

Have had an LG Viewty now for 18months and have been very happy with it. Yes the processor is a bit slow as it is slow changing between photos / applications but generally I find it a great camera phone.

Was considering an Iphone as I would like to access emails and I like the interface, but it only has 3mp camera, its a bit to big and its expensive. Having read a few reviews for the Viewty smart it looks like a good upgrade as it seems to be a big improvement on the one I have. 8MP camera, wifi, GPs etc.

I dont access email at the moment but it is likely that I may require this in the new year. Can the viewty handle emails and are there any alternative touch screen phones that have good camera, not to big and are better than the smart.

Any help would be appreciated as I dont know to much about mobiles!

Re: Have an old viewty and looking to upgrade to similar!

Hi, I was in a similar situation to you. My viewty screen stopped working properly and I was on the look out for another phone that would be as good. I heard about the viewty smart and was thinking about getting it, until I saw and read about the poor camera quality in low level lighting. Then I heard about the Samsung i8910HD, with an 8 megapixel camera, and can record video in 720p (smoothly at 24fps IIRC). It's a beautiful device, and it's had lots of great reviews, there's even a massive thread on it on this very forum (check the samsung section). I was going to get this phone next week (when my contract expired), until I read about the HTC HD2, and that blows everything else out of the water (in my opinion).

In my opinion, I recommend that you read up on the Samsung i8910HD, as I think it will tick all the boxes for you.

On a side note, I love my Viewty so much, that I'm going to fork out £50 to get it fixed even though it's about two years old

Re: Have an old viewty and looking to upgrade to similar!

Read on the forums that the HTC is a good phone similar to iphone, but its a bit big. I had not heard the camera on the smart was poor on low lighting - will have to check that out and of course the Samsung!
