Android "Brushes" type Paint Applications

Does anybody know if there are any impending Paint type applications for the Android platform such as the iphone's "Brushes" or "Layers"? Or if not, do you forsee the Android Application market developing quickly?

I am tempted to buy the iphone specifically for these 2 applications, and maybe some of the music/synthesiser type app's but I really don't like the idea of moving over to Apple products for various reasons, including the lack of at least a 5mp camera or radio on the phone and the lack of an oled screen. Although I think the iphone scores with their accessibility functions, ie the text magnification for old duffers like me.

If there is no chance of similar painting app's being developed I will have to buy the iphone.

I figure that as these phones, such as the Samsung Galaxy, come to market, there will be a growing app market following in their wake? Any thoughts on Android Application development would be appreciated.

Re: Android "Brushes" type Paint Applications

There are a quite a few painting apps for Android phones, although most are quite basic.

I use Draw, which only lets you change brush size and colour, although you do get two brushes. Simple, but good fun.

Some of the paid-for apps might be more fully featured though.

Check this site: Cyrket - Search: 'paint'

As for the Android Market, it seems to be growing and growing all the time. I think with few exceptions you'll struggle to find anything on iPhone that isn't available in some form for Android, usually free or at least very cheap.

Thanks RandomLee, I just can't see the people behind Brushes and Layers missing out on what will be a vast marketplace but I suppose that they are tied in to a deal with Apple. Hopefully someone will come up with an Android rival at least as powerful and perhaps better.

Brushes style app for Android

I believe the closest App to Brushes on Android is Doodledroid. The most recent version is quite good, but it hasn't gotten as much publicity as Brushes.

Here is a link:

Paint App for Android

I have installed Draw on my phone, but also uninstalled it a few days later. Actually I have also Doodledroid, and use it with great pleasure. But I don't found some important tools for drawing and painting comfortably on a telephone screen.

Last week I have just published my app (called "Magic Doodle") on Android Market. It's a drawing and painting app that (I hope) contain the most useful tools, such as: zooming, moving the piece of paper, airbrush, smudge, colour palettes (instead of colour wheel which is not so helpful). I have also added drawing models for training, and also some useful tips.

I've just made the first update today to perfect some tool settings. Magic Doodle has free and paid versions. Please feel free to try it, and let me know your opinion, so that I can make it more perfect. You can find it by simply search the name "Magic Doodle" on Android Market. I honestly think that my app is one of the most complete on Android, but surely perfectible. I'm working hard for it.

can you tell me, according to your opinion, what is the most important features and tools a painting app on smartphone must have.

Thanks for your answers.
