I just got a P900 before the weekend. Have been playing with it all weekend. I love it.

Was considering the XDAII (Qtek 2020) as well, but I got a free upgrade and couldn't say no.

The build quality is excellent, the software for a pda user like myself is usable. What exactly would you like to know?

You get 2 styluses.

Yes you can use any MP3's as ringtones. However one minor thing, the default & only setting on the phone for any ringtone is 20 secs before it diverts into voicemail, so any MP3 will only get the first 20 secs played before it diverts !

I suppose you can get round this by not activating voicemail or you can do the Nokia SIM workaround for lengthier ringtones.

Superbly built, ergonomic and nicely sized for a smartphone. Screen displays vivid quality 65k colours. It's lighter and slimmer than the P800. Whereas I removed the flip on the P800 I probably won't on the P900. It is a self contained proper flip with backlit buttons. Stunning phone, not much more to say.

I use a P800 as well and the screen is a massive improvement on that. The phone overall though is not that considerable an improvement over the P800 featurewise. However it is a mighty impressive bit of kit and it looks the part for sure as well.

V-Rally comes on the installation disc and it is a mighty impressive demo.

I have also installed MAME onto it and am playing original ROMS of all my favourite arcade classics. A few minor teething problems with the porting of this emulator but am sure this will get sorted very shortly in v1.2 eMAME.

dont have the p800 so the leap from gd87 to p900 will be a greater improvement than say it would be for you to go from p800 to p900.thanks for the info though mate oh where do you store the stylus

The stylus slips into the body of case itself, PDA style. Whereas on the P800 it sort of clips on the side.

This is a major improvement.

I would say the P900 is more the phone the P800 originally set out to be. It is more business looking and ergonomic. I personally like my phones to be small, but for it's functionality it is more than acceptable. If you remove the flip, it looks like a minature pda.

Can't comment on the GD87 as I've never had one, but the P800 was one of the best in it's class, the P900 just takes it even further.

900 is smaller and lighter than the 800.

I use a 8910i day to day as that is my preferred size of phone but I have no complaints moving over to the 900 fulltime now.

I wish it had Wifi but that is promised in the next incarnation. However in the meantime, the 900 is certainly not a phone to take the "P" out of

Nah none m8. If you like the look and feel of it in the flesh you won't be disappointed.

It is the phone of the moment....and for the forseeable future.

I did not have that problem ?

Do you have other conflicting syncing software on the PC ? I would uninstall it, detach the cradle and reinstall software. After software installed then attach the cradle with power and simply sit phone in cradle. You shouldn't have to do any more than that.

on the phone link icon right mouse click, open up and make sure you have selected USB as your com port

switch the phone off, remove/reinsert battery. Resit in cradle. First time the PC must recognise the phone and name it, it should go through a short wizard and you will be away.

Shouldn't be anything more than a simple thing.

are you using a laptop ?? and are you trying to sync without the cradle and through the infra red port?

If not, then it seems like your PC is not recognising all it's own com ports if the only option you are prented with is infra red. That sounds very much like a configuration thing on your PC.

Thought it might have been something silly like that. OK good to hear you are all go now !

MP3's or Video files ??I simply copy the files from explorer off my PC then open up the P900 icon on your desktop, and simply go into memory card or phone memory and place the files in the relevant folders. It might take a few moments depending on how big the files are but you get a progress bar. Really is that simple !

Have been using the phone for a few days and the more I use it... the more I like it!!!

I have been able to synch it with my outlook and was able to transfer all my 450+ entries into the phone. Didn't expect it to take it all, but it did. I don't really know what the total capacity is, but having been a Psion user once before, it all seems a bit familiar.

Like I said earlier, I am a heavy PDA user and I am beginning to think that this phone will go 80% to satisfying my PDA needs.

I am a very happy and thrilled P900 user.

Had one since release and am a VERY heavy user (1000 inclusive minutes gone in 11 days!!) and I have nothing but praise for it. Software such as Falk London, Handy Expense, Doom etc are extremely useful and the phone is incredibly intuitive to use (unlike the T68). The sound recorder has made my life much easier as well.
Mounted to the dash and paired with a HBH65 headset makes it a joy to use in the car.

The only negatives are heavy battery use (or maybe thats just me) and i've had it lock up a few times. Even removing the battery left a corrupted image on the screen (very x-files) but it rebooted fine.
