Thumbs up Best modern phone in mid price range to equal Ericsson k850i?

First forgive me if you're fed up reading these kind of messages but I have been studying mid priced phones and tariffs and still cant make my mind up. I am so grateful for any help. I have been lucky with my last two phones, a Nokia and my Sony Ericsson K850i, in that they have been able to do those things I really need respectably well..ie phone calls, great organisers for tasks, notes and calendars and alarms. This is highest priority. A decent camera (at least 3.02mp) with a flash is next

Recently I have found myself doing more texting than usual and I want WiFi and at least 3G data connection. I would like a good querty keyboard but it is optional. A big screen would be nice but is optional. They have also had very useful additional apps like calculator, currency convertor etc. I have found the torch on my K850i to be incredibly helpful too.

Some of the phones I have a chance of getting on decent tarrifs (ie around£20)are HTC Magic, Nokia E71, Samsung Blade, Samsung Tocco, Nokia 5800. But if there is pretty much an agreement on any phone as long as its within the selected tariff range I will probably go with that.

I think you need to really decide on Touchscreen or qwerty keyboard.

If you want a Hard qwerty keyboard then the E71 is a superb phone. I really can't fault it. Prices are dropping with the E72 due for release shortly.

If you decide against Qwerty and go for touchscreen then both the Magic and the 5800 are very very good phones (although I've recently binned my 5800 for an E71)

The Magic is very slick with a great Screen and OS. The 5800 less so but will feel instantly familiar if your a previous S60 user.

Guys Im just looking for a quick word of helpful advice on what is the cheapest contemporary phone to rival or better the Sony Ericsson K850i with emphasis on a good organiser and decent camera of about 3.2 mp minimum?

Maybe look at the Nokia 6500/6303/6700 handsets or any of the E-Series.

I think SE have lost their way a little since the K750i/K800i but maybe look at the SE W995i

I used to have a k850i until it went wrong i now have a nokia 5800 and its great. Has a qwerty keyboard on a touchscreen, a 3.2 camera and everything else you mentioned, apart from a torch I think. Recommended.

Plenty of torch apps around for the 5800
I used to use this on mine.
