Exclamation Orange scrap TofS changes - no more cancellations!

News from Orange via the Bitterwallet website...

" UPDATE 1006: We’ve just spoken to Orange’s press office - there’s a full release due to be sent to us in the next few minutes, but in the meantime we can confirm that in cases where Orange have already agreed to a cancellation, these will still stand. Anybody who has requested a PAC code will be informed that the changes will not be going ahead, but will still be free to cancel.
Orange have apologised for “any frustration and confusion” that customers have experienced, and we’ve also been told Orange are carrying out a full review of customer service procedures to ensure future customers aren’t treated in the questionable manner reported by dozens of Bitterwallet readers. "

Read the full article here - all of which has since been confirmed by Orange themselves.

HOW'S THAT for a U-turn?

Cheers.

You may live to regret that! Argh ... When did you request your PAC? I've heard some people complain that although they had cancelled their contract and requested a PAC, Orange are now relluctant to fulfill the cancellation! I hope everything goes okay for you! Keep us posted.

OFCOM!

They're supposed to give you the code within 2 days... and you requested it before this new announcement. It's not your fault it isn't here so I'm sure Ofcom would be on your side.

Sounds to me like they've been stalling you over the past few days pending this coming into effect.

Re: Orange scrap TofS changes - no more cancellations!

i got this text just now:

'Hi from Orange. Sorry you're leaving us due to our price changes from Sept. We're no longer making these changes & would love you to stay. Call 150 and select option 1, then option 4 to talk to us.''

i think they realised O2's simplicity £100 cashback.....lol

luckily my pac code is already requested so im in the clear.

Talking Re: Orange scrap TofS changes - no more cancellations!

I received an upgrade Samsung i8910 last Friday. The battery life was terrible after a full charge so called Orange on Monday & said i was going to return the phone, cancel my original contract because of the t&c changes & request my PAC. "No worries, i'll give you my extension number" Great! I bought an iPhone instead (receive it today).

Orange received return yesterday. Just phoned to check and been told that I can't cancel because the changes aren't going ahead.

"Nah I'm not having that, let me speak to someone who can make a rationale & reasonable decision". The female adviser put me through to a man & Orange will honour my request to cancel from Monday because both I and the gentleman I spoke to on Monday weren't privy to the new announcement.
