Question Upgrade due but not really sure what to get

I've just received a text message from my network to inform me that I'm due my upgrade on my account.

I'm ready for a new handset anyway as my Blackberry has seen better days, its been a good phone but the last 6 months have been pretty bad with constant software issues causing the phone to randomly hang and have to reboot. Tried taking it back to t-mobile but was told it could take up to three weeks without my handset for them to fix it with no replacement phone being provided in the time it was set for repairs. The phone itself is very unreliable as a result of this and its gotten to the point that every time I attempt to make an outgoing call the phone crashes and reboots, so I need my upgrade sooner rather than later.

I pretty much have full choice of anything at T-Mobile although I do have to pay for some handsets. This shouldn't be too much of a problem as I'm currently getting Flext 35, unlimited internet and blackberry services for £20 a month so as long as the phone wont average out at more than £10 a month over the 18 month term I'm happy to pay it.

I really don't want to go to my local store and end up coming out with a phone thats way out of date and have been fleeced and stuck with a sub-par handset for the next 18 months.

As for features I like to be able to use Facebook on the move, camera, video, music player as I don't have an MP3 player, SMS, MMS, phone calls (a given considering its a phone) and Microsoft Live messenger//Blackberry messenger. I like the look/idea of having a touch screen phone as it looks so much cooler than just having buttons!!

So can anyone advise me a decent handset thats not going to break in my pocket or if I drop it when drunk.

Thanks in advance and if theirs anything else you guys would need to know just ask!!

Regards,
Sacred

I suggest you go to your local store and have a play with the HTC Hero

HTC is about to launch a new range of phones shortly, i would advise if possible to make do with what you have and wait for the new range im going to be keeping tabs on the HTC firestone, which if the rumours are true will be an excellent phone! just depends if you can wait that long! lol

Have you thought about the nokia n97? its got loads of options that may suit your needs?

Dont always be loyal to T mobile - you may be able to get a better deal under a new contract than an upgrade.

Re: Upgrade due but not really sure what to get

How long are we talking till the release of the new HTC phones? A few weeks? Or months? Or possibly longer? As I'm not able to make outgoing calls on my current handset.

The G2 looks really nice but just over 200mb internal memory and no flash for the camera? No key set to type on for text messaging/making a call. Coupled with its strange curve at the bottom of the handset. I'm not so sure.

I love the look of the N97 but after being told its bundled with sub-par software for its operating system, a slow internal processor and the old type of touch screen technology is it really worth buying into something thats been sold as new when really its just a bundle of old stuff thrown together to make a "new" phone?

My best deal will always be with T-Mobile (even though I find getting signal on the network awful at times 1/2 of my house gets signal and the other 1/2 doesn't) as I get all of my contracts with them at 1/2 price.

Depends if you really do want touchscreen or not but...if not and you liked the Blackberry than maybe a Nokia E71 (or hold out a little for the due soon E72)

very good qwerty keyboard as per the BB with a good stable OS and cracking build quality.
