Please recommend me a Windows Mobile with QWERTY

We're switching from Blackberry (I have a Bold) to Windows Mobile at work and I want a model that is properly functional for business use - a proper qwerty button keyboard . Must be easy to use, good battery life, bluetooth for my car and no fancy touchscreens and stylus.

Can anyone please recommend something? Would be much appreciated as I need to purchase within days really. Ta.

Windows Mobile with no stylus or touchscreen and easy to use? Good luck.

Anyway, HTC are most likely to make something to suit, Touch Pro2 and Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 are good places to start looking.

i agree with the above poster regarding HTC as being your best bet.

i was thinking that too.

windows mobile is a total pain to use. it's very sluggish, suffers often from freezes, ugly, antiquated, and not very user friendly(IMO)

The Sony Ericsson X1 has the best QWERTY keyboard I've used on any phone. I use mine daily for work purposes and am yet to find anything to rival it in the Windows Mobile market.

a friend of mine has the X1 and he loves it (god knows why!).

it does have a touchscreen and a stylus though, but in addition to a physical qwerty keypad.

The X1 has a directional pad and a scroll button so you can operate most things one-handed without needing the stylus.

Another option is to look at the Blackberry range. Most are similar though - touch screen with physical navigation buttons.

Re: Please recommend me a Windows Mobile with QWERTY

But much less physical navigation keys, so much more touch screen use. TouchFlo is very touch orientated so for a user who wants to avoid such things, probably not the best idea.

Another option would be the HTC Snap or the Palm Treo Pro. I used the Palm for months before the X1 and it's ruddy brilliant as a business phone. It is touch screen, but I don't think I ever used it as it's so easy to navigate around via the physical buttons. It also features direct access buttons to email, contacts, calendar etc.

What about HTC S740?? It has full qwerty and no touch screen. on the front it is plain old phone with buttons.

I own X1. Becoming used to it after a two year stint with imate.

Thanks, but having looked at it, I think the slide out keyboard will annoy me. I've got one similar to that at the moment on trial and I hate it.

Looks like the HTC Snap might do the trick - bit of a copy of the Blackberry which is no bad thing in my book.

The HTC Snap does look very good. Do take a look at the Palm Treo Pro too though, which has a similar design.

It's not the most exciting device I know, but as a work tool it takes some beating

Is anyone familiar with the Samsung i780? It seems to be the best of both worlds - touch screen and a proper keyboard.

The optical D pad of i780 has been said to be a pain. Also the 320x320 resolution screen is said to be a disadvantage. Check out the reviews. And it is an old model - selling for about USD 150 in UAE now.

Re: Please recommend me a Windows Mobile with QWERTY

I trialled a Samsung WM phone much like that once, but I forget the model number. I hated it. It felt very awkward to use and Samsung tweak things a little bit too much.

There are much better phones with the same layout.
