Metal gear online problem

Ok heres the beef

today i tried to access metal gear online but it doesnt get past the metal gear online now loading.... (the first thing when you click on metal gear online)

why is this,it used to work perfectly fine before,whats the beef?

please help as this is my fave game and i wouldn't like the idea of not having the online capabilities.

also i forgot to mention that if i wait long enough two icons appear in the corner of the screen.The two icons a are a question mark (?) and a cd.

this never used to happen before,whats up??

only had the game a few weeks, thought i would try online, GOD how long does it take to download new update? its going very slow. about 5% every 30 mins

In response to your question regarding the question mark and disc appearing a786 the fact that this appears while MGS4 is loading may be due to your PS3's inabiity to read a 'dual layered disc'. In short it might be a problem with your PS3 - Have you tried removing the game from your PS3's HD and reinstalling it?
