Woooahhh, good start but the controlls - Arrrgg

Hi

I am a bit late to the MGS4 party, I had great time plating the first one on PS1, and the sequel on PS2 (I missed Snake Eater), so now took the plunge for MGS4 (loaded it up last night)...

Any how great start to the game, I love that install screen, I am sure its taking the biscuit out of all those warnings! Nice cut scenes... buy my god those controls, I am sure I will get used to them but I died several times, either by making the wrong movements when I shouldn't have, or by getting stuck in a battles and getting totally shot up. What happened to "press against the wall" from MGS1 and 2, I can not handle this press triangle thing TOO many buttons.

Any how, I think I am going need to play a lot more time to get used to it, after reading the manual it reveals a few things I didn't even think about, like the radar that surrounds your body, I thought that was some stealth thing DOH

Reading the manual further my brain shut down after discovering all those possible moves... Will I ever learn them?

I am not cut for the Tactical Espionage Action anymore, may be at thirty I should retire, like Old Snake?

It's certainly not a game for squeezing in a quick hour or two while the wife is out... I tried doing so again last night, and in almost two hours play... I must have played about 10 minutes of game and watched 110 minutes of cutscenes

Still it's a great game once you're allowed in to play the game

I have the same problems as you, she was out for 2hrs so though I would get a quick blast - to be honest I dont mind the scenes - just the control I aint used to it yet.

Getting settled in with the controls now, it was good to have a break and then come back to it.

Currently up to the bit with the barrel - great game so far

agreed on the button thing, i prefer pushing up against the wall, and also, having not read the manual myself, what does this mean then???

I did the stage, using a very different approach which worked very well... got to what I thought was the next save point, saved - got shot, died, had to restart again!!!
