Trophies to come on MGS4?

I doubt it. It has its own 'trophy' system already. The emblems.

Someone has started a petition, only 70 signatures so far but could grow significantly if it was pasted about.

This is an official reply on the PlayStation Blog. The Konami ID's stopped me from going online, only ever got to try it out in its beta form. It's more likely they'll add trophies rather than fix that problem though.

I think trophy's will come, I just hope they're retro-active and work on an existing game save as I'd imagine they'd require multiple play throughs if they're based on the animal emblems.

anyone heard anymore info regarding trophies? i am holding off playing this as it would be just my luck to finish the game when the trophy patch was released..

I've had this game since the night of launch, & I've STILL not got around to playing it for one reason or another!

I'm tempted to start it soon, but I figured that there's no point if trophy support is likely to be added in the near future - I may as well start it when/if trophy support is added.

Has anyone heard anything concrete as to whether or not the game will be patched for trophies?

I personally can't see it happening.

Its been confirmed by Kojima studios that no patch for trophies is coming mate, I did a quick google.

Konami are saying something different though aren't they, when asked if trophies would be supported the reponse was "we are listening".

Never had the time to get sit down and get into it. The first 3 I played solidly, no other game got a look in....there have been too many others I've been playing to do that with 4

Anyone think the trophies will be retro activated for those of us who decided to dust MGS4 off this weekend and play it without reading this thread? - Thanks to all that sent me messages over the weekend saying I should wait till Septemeber.

Also Im bored so anyone fancy predicting what some of the trophies are likely to be. I think most will follow the emblem system but there may be some more unusal or hidden ones.

Ill start, I reckon there might be one for the photos of the four beauties.

stun 10 enemies with your knife
stun 10 enemies with the MKII
Complete each chapter
find all the ipod tracks
Distract a enemy with the playboy mag
obtain all CAMO face's

Not sure about the ipod tracks and the camo faces, these can only be completed by obtaining the big boss emblem I think, which in itself will no doubt be a trophy. You could be right about the others though.

i have a few camo faces and i've not done big boss.

Once you have the face camo when you are on the plane you can bump into ppl with the MKII and you obtain their face. Also i found a few ipod tracks scattered around the levels.

No I meant you get one of each for the emblem therefore youd need the emblem to get them all. Same if there was a trophy for owning all weapons.

Sorry understand what you meant now.

To be honest i can see this being a very difficult platinum to get. Also with it being over a year now. Would it really bring that many people back?
