Would you be excited about a remake of MGS?

As the Title asks, would you? I was just thinking after playing through MGS4 don't you think it would be awesome to play through MGS with the same game engine (The software used to make MGS4)

I know I would be excited.

Re: Would you be excited about a remake of MGS?

Definetly.

Use all the old sounds though, I love the sounds of the original, and the simply awesome soundtrack. And perhaps have an updated 'remix' of new sounds once you complete it or something.

And have it jam-packed full of goodies like on MGS4

God, this series is superb

Re: Would you be excited about a remake of MGS?

It looked good on the gamecube so god knows what it would look like on the ps3, it would be good but i also like the nostalgia factor of mgs1 on the ps1. Leave it in the past i say

Re: Would you be excited about a remake of MGS?

Already done it once with Twin Snakes, not gonna happen imo. Just wish they would port it to the PS2. I wouldn't be surprised if they decide to remake the very first Metal Gear/Solid Snake games, though.

Although again I don't think it will happen, but if they took the controls/graphics of MGS4 and put them in MGS3 then you'd probably have the greatest game ever.

Re: Would you be excited about a remake of MGS?

In my opinion, the games industry needs more remakes (if they can keep production cost low enough).

I would definantly buy it, having not played MGS1 or Twin Snakes.

I am no developer, but surely this shouldnt be too hard to pull off if they use the exact same engine as MGS4 (and gameplay controls).

Re: Would you be excited about a remake of MGS?

As said we've already had Twin Snakes but MGS is still my personal favourite. When it first came out it was simply astonishing, I never knew games could be that movie-like and cool at the time. It really changed the industry and games have being trying to rip it off ever since. Even Kojima says it is his fave!

I would vote for MG and MG2 to be remade. Most people have not played them but I think the story in those two is simply amazing! Snake going up against Big Boss, Outer Heaven...Zanzibar land....drool........with MGS4 graphics...snaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaake!!

Re: Would you be excited about a remake of MGS?

Actually, most people have not played MGS3.

Really, what they should do is just release Twin Snakes, MGS2 Substabce and MGS3 Subsistance for the PS3 on 1 Blu-ray - I would buy that.

Re: Would you be excited about a remake of MGS?

If this MGS4 is truely the last in the series, then I would pay good money to have MGS3 updated to current graphics and MGS4 gameplay. Same with MGS and MGS2. Add alsorts of extra little bonuses in, and have pretty much all the maps from the entire series up for some brilliant MGO action!
I would break open my piggybank for that.

That would be awesome. MGS:3-subsistance is stunning.

This won't be the last MGS game, only Snakes last.
Raiden's life between MGS2-->MGS4?
Raiden after MGS4?

Re: Would you be excited about a remake of MGS?

I would be very interest in any MGS remakes as i am fairly new to the series.

MGS mkII would be a welcome additionto most peoples game collections if it ever happened.

potential MSG4 spoiler below

going by act 4 of the current game, some of the works kinda done already.

i think this wouldnt be the best idea as nothing can beat the original MGS as proved my twin snakes but remakes of MG and MG2 would be good

You'd be surprised just how similar the story line and characters are in MGS to that of MG.

I think the key here is not to mess with the story (ala Twin snakes on Gamecube) but (MAYBE) add some of the features from the newer games?

Re: Would you be excited about a remake of MGS?

A part of me would like to see remakes of the originals but something tells me they'd just not be the same in 3D. Plus in all honesty, when considered as entities outside of the MG story-ark, they have very weak stories, dialogue and sometimes characters, they may not convert well in that sense and it would perhaps mean re-writing them for the bigger stage, not gonna happen, at least I hope not!

As for a remake of MGS, it will always be best remembered as a PS1 game in my opinion.

Has anyone played MGS on PSP (via PSone Remote Play)? Is it playable with the reduced control set?

I never played the remake on the gamecube so I'd welcome another remake for the ps3. I doubt they'll remake the same game a third time though.
