It has always been 2007 as far as I know.

Is the above a brand new trailer? There have been three so far (I think).

not brand new i think, because it is a 'remastered' version

It's a remastered version of the old trailer. No new scenes but...

THE PLAYSTATION3 LOGO HAS BEEN TAKEN OFF THE CREDITS.

Just watched the vid and mightily impressive stuff it is, but just one query, after snake hides and the robot things stomp the melons, just what is it they do before jumping away?? did'nt think super high tech robot killing machines got nervous

That you read too much into things......

That you wish it was being released on the 360......

That you actually wished you had a PS3, otherwise what else would you be doing posting on a PS3 forum and watching trailers of forthcoming PS3 exclusives....

Trailer looks wicked, but it's Sony and with their track record I refuse to get excited till I see the actual game, if it's anything like that it will be a definate buy.

What's Sony got to do with it. Yes it is being released on the PS3 but it's developed and published by Konami.

Sorry, should have said this game along with others influenced me to purchase a PS3 as a long term investment. Has that knocked the laughing out of you.

I can't wait for this either. Getting in some training thought.

Bought and completed MSG off ebay this week (seem to remember it taking longer last time, probably cause I button mashed my way through the cut-scenes this time), still got 2&3 on the shelf so will play those through as well.

Shamed to say never completed 3. Will do it this time.

Quite surprised how good the graphics were when played MGS on the PS3. Got me in the mood it did, so i also bought Silent Hill 1 for re-play

Fair enough but you said ' This game was the reason ' . It wasn't a personal attack or anything and not aimed at you, it's just it's a common comment I've read since the trailers been redone and irks me slightly.

We all want the PS3 to do well, I bought it because I love games and want to play everything available without having to limit myself to one system. For Example at the moment for me Motorstorm is a revelation, I don't have anything like that on the 360 and Excite truck on the Wii is similar but an extremely poors mans version. So having all 3 means you get the best of all worlds and all consoles have there strong points.

Again sorry if I caused offence, it wasn't meant.

There wasn't any official release date for it but this gives us hope, did anyone also notice his name changed from Solid to Old Snake when it was showing who was in it, this is interesting because I heard a rumour that there was a new snake clone and recall seeing a picture of him a while back. Oh man, can't wait!

So.... the old (newish) trailer said late 2007.

Notice the new E3 one for ealy 2008 but worldwide release. 3/1/08 on Gametrailers. Dammit!

EDIT: US PS store has various trailers to download in an 'E3' section, MGS4 is one of them. Nothing on Uk servers as yet.

The movie looks amazing but there isn't a single scene where I can imagine actually being in control of the character.

According to Kojima it's real time in game footage. Make of that what you will. Apparently there is going to be an even in tokyo in a week ot two where they are actually going to have it in playable form.

I don't know about you guys (and I may get flamed for this) but really, I've progressivly lost interest in the series as years went by.

MGS on PS1 was as I think most of us will agree, incredible, genre defining, basically just totally awesome.

MGS2 in my opinion, that demo you got with Zone Enders got more play time than the actual game which was like play for 5min then codec, "beep beep" all the way through the damn game.

MGS3 I waited until it was in the bargin bin and I'm glad I did. The characters are just getting too outrages and this is the problem I have with the series now.

The characters used to be cool. Now they're just silly. Snake's still cool but it takes more than one cast member to make a good story which the series has been lacking for some time now.

Now, before anyone starts going mental at me, I'm sharing my opinion in interest of what other people think, if anyone feels the same.

Well, bring it on.

tbh i've loved them all. i'm a complete sucker for a game with a good atmosphere and that's something they've achieved with every version.

i like the fact that every scene and gameplay section seems to introduce something new, as opposed to the latest first person shooter which just regurgetates section after section.

The thing I like about them is that they're not all the same, MGS is still one of my most loved games, well in my top 5 along with FF7. That was basically introducing Solid Snake to a new generation, those that were still feeding when MG hit the MSX, this is what set the whole scene for the new Metal Gear franchise and thats what got me in to it.

I'm looking forward to 4 very much but I'm prepared to be weirded out with it like I was with MGS2, I'm upset they've put Raiden as the ninja though, no one will top Grey Fox.
