Which will answer something I've been wondering about. Can anyone move a thread or is that restricted to Mods?

Re: My Home Entertainment System Project

I can see where your going with this now, looking good.

How are the blue and white rope lights going to be operated (through lighting circuit or plug socket)?

Not tried those in wall speakers yet? Come on...........

Re: My Home Entertainment System Project

Rite so I came home from work last nite and Craig (the Joiner) had completed the front...I was amazed, it looked fantastic, should be painting it this week and the two end cupboards will be in next weekend and the front door and hopefully it all should be finished.
Now my friend thefathacker came round to help with all those wires and where they go, everything is all connected up now but I need to buy a decent sub, I’ll be looking for one soon, indecisive the front speaker's seem to be O.K for now but I can’t really tell till the subs connected up, my friend thefathacker thinks there not up to much but I’m not too sure yet, I'll let you know in the week.

Stage 6..

Ofthelane -

Great job!

I do have a question, though, that relates to the airflow behind the TV. how does air circulate behind your screen?

THey don't heat up much, but from the pictures I can't see where the hot air can go.

Thanks for sharing your pics!

Thanks j0t4b3....I am gambling with this one as with the amp to, although I've kept an eye on the heating up of the T.V and it seems ok at the mo..the amp is defo a problem but I can cut a hole through the top of the wood that go's into the chim breast, but then I have debris probs from the chimney...may-be some very fine mesh will stop any debris falling down..it's a problem I need to address asap..
Thanks for looking.

Re: My Home Entertainment System Project

You could cut some lateral holes high at the amps case, then add a CPU cooler or similar. That will pump out the heat.

you could easily add some plastic tubes to the sides of your built furniture... problem with the fan can be the noise... and how to power it up...

my 2 cents...

Hi mate. just wanted to say I like what you're doing there.

One question: are you plastering on top of the mdf?

I'm about to start doing a similar thing in my dining room so very interested in how you get on with yours.

Very impressed with it so far.

Stuart.

Hi Stuart...no not plastering..just painting a undercoat then rub the MDF down with very fine sandpaper then add a few more coats you get a very smooth finish when you rub it down..and it takes no time..little dusty..but worth it m8..

Re: My Home Entertainment System Project

Well I know it’s taking time but I’ve been really busy at work lately I was hoping to all done last weekend but due to work commitments I’ve had not much time to do things.
I’ve painted the front and hopefully the cupboards should be on tomoz.

I must say that the sound Quality is fantastic I bought a Sub-woofer from Richers sounds for £200.00 its perfect!! made by Cambridge Audio.

The remote is the best although pricey at £177.00 it is the dogs!! Easy to use and stops all the messing about..Top draw, it’s a Logitech harmony remote control..Really is fantastic.
Well hopefully the next set of photos after the ones below will be the last and my project, which I think has been a great success will be finished.
Thank you for looking.

Shame I cant see your pics, I bet it's really looking nice though. So now you have the in walls set up along with a Sub to give them the depth, would you recommend them as part of a HC set-up? What is thefathacker's opinion of them now?

Hi Indecisve...I will sort out the photos soon photobucket is a pain in the arse..
I would recommend the speakers but perhaps go for the 100w and not the 75w..but to be honest the sound out my system is fantasic well chuffed with it..

I'll sort out those photos later.

Thanks

Thanks for the update on the Adastras. Was just about to order them the other day but then stumbled across a pair of Sonance Symphony S621t's on the bay that had been listed incorrectly. The hope that no one else would notice them paid off and I got myself a pair of £299 in walls for £56, so quid's in and a higher end sound to boot. Arrived next day in mint condition and they sound sublime

You install is looking very clean and I am sure you are loving every second of the entertainment it's rewarding you with for all the hard work that's been put into it.

Any chance of a few low light shots to show off the back lighting. Can't make out the blue behind the TV in the pics you have posted.

Thats a shame.....

I was going to go for something like these

4 x 9" HOME THEATRE CINEMA AMBIENT LED MOOD LIGHTING on eBay, also LED Lighting, Lights, Lighting, Home Garden (end time 13-Mar-09 10:19:11 GMT)

wouldn't be stuck with just Blue either. They look really bright in the pics and are remote controlled.
