| Our TV's
Hi everyone, Just joined as I was looking for advice on another thread so though i'd jump in here & commit myself to being a "proper member"
We built our house this year, 5 bedrooms (1 being used as playroom) and its lovely, not quite finished but finished enough for just now, Everything is still a bit bland but the 6 month snagging still to do (hopefully beginning of year and not before xmas) so will re decorate after that.
We mainly use our family room for telly watching, Its a sony bravia 46".. dont ask me which model, its 100Hertz thats all I remember and I cant see the code on the telly so ? (the husband would know probably lol) Anyway its wall mounted and all the cables run under the floor through the room, through the kitchen & into the cupboard in utility room where the skyhd box & blue ray player is. To change the channels we use a magic eye thingy, practically invisable on the telly itself & works a treat, to use blueray controls we have to go through and point at machine but to be honest we dont use it too often & when we do its normally on till end of film so doesnt cause us a problem. this set up , not very hi tech or technical to you guys probably but works brilliant for us. This sky box also provides us with telly to our bedroom & bathroom upstairs & play room & lounge(we have a separate dvd player in our bedroom though and the telly is in the middle of our very large wardrobes so when not watching the doors are closed & you cant see it... perfect ! , this was the second option as originally hubby was going to have one of those hoists that come down from ceiling but because of the way our joists run this wasnt possible in our particular bedroom).. all of which can be changed via magic eyes (well not the bath telly but they wouldnt dare change it if i'm watching corrie in the bath! ). We also have a second multiroom box which is actually in the loft but very easy for us to access ! This provides telly to the kids rooms & spare bedroom & again works fine for our humble selves. (exept when 1 child changes the channel that the other child was watching in their other bedroom LOL)
We only took delivery of our lounge telly yesterday, picture & sound looks ok when we switched it on, its one of those new samsung slim led things... again husbands choice, i wanted a panasonic or another sony but oh well never mind.
Our new dilemma is the lounge telly isnt going to look at all right in the planned corner we had for it, fortunately we havent yet bought a unit etc and I am now pushing for us to look into having it mounted above the fire but this isnt without issues owing to the type of fire we have.
Thats about it, Ive seen brilliant pics on this forum.. some of your stuff is amazing & i'm sure we'll pick up good tips.
