Beginner woman setup

Hi everyone, just thought I would post some pics on here of my setup as I dont think there are many women on here.
Bought the yamaha amp about a year ago after some advice on here, before then I knew nothing about home cinema etc.
Am quite a novice at all of this but love my gadgets and would love to do more if I had the knowledge or know how so if any of you have any ideas for improvements would be great to hear what you think.

Re: Beginner woman setup

Looks very neat and tidy, not sure if you have painted the cables or they are good colour match but it would look good if you could paint the little clips. Very tidy setup though.

Re: Beginner woman setup

Nice clean set up you have there. As above I am not sure I would want the sub in the cabinet. Have you tried it to the side of it on the floor instead? May sound a little better that way.

Re: Beginner woman setup

Nice setup, Vicki! What do you think made yu catch the AV bug?

And I think you're wrong about women being in the minority on thes forums as I see plenty of handbags being hurled on some of the threads

Re: Beginner woman setup

Nice setup

As has been said, the sub may sound better out of the cabinet.

Is that a lamp on the amp? Does it affect the amp's ventilation?

Re: Beginner woman setup

Nice set-up. If you want improvement you could look at this link on how your speakers should "ideally" be positioned.

Dolby - Dolby Home Theater Speaker Guide - Speaker Placement and Setup Guide for Home Theater Surround Sound

You could look at getting the centre near as damn it to ear height (when sitting listening) as possible either by moving or angling it up.

Also I have had the opportunity to hear your sub in action and if you like your games and movies to have a bit more umphh then this is what I would be looking at upgrading first (if it were me that is)
