Re: My first effort!!!

Looks great! Well done! A very nice sized room indeed!

How does it sound? You enjoying it? I was amazed what a difference 5.1 made when I first tried it. I bet there are still lots of people out there with the HD TV but are missing out on the whole experience.

Happy viewing / listening!

Thanks for the nice comments guys,

To answer a few queries.

Yes I'm dead happy how it sounds even in my big room it doesnt get too lost.
5.1 is awesome even my mrs can cope with all the speakers, wires etc.

And please dont get me thinking about a projector I know ive got the room for it just not the Cash YET!!!!

Re: My first effort!!!

Great sized room. 720p Projector off the classifieds - 300quid, Manual 100" screen off Ebay - 50-100quid. Sorted ! You know you want to........the size of the room demands it !!

Re: My first effort!!!

nice set up mate,

if you don't mind me asking, how have you got your centre speaker above your tv? stand? bracket?

I have mine sat under my tv, i made something out of mdf and steel furniture legs but i dont like the height that the tv has ended up.

My next project was to try and find away to get it above the tv, the same as yours.

thanks.

edited to say i echo the comments re the projector, looks like you got an ideal area to mount the screen to have it hidden behind a structural beam. Where you curtains are to the left of the first photo.

I made my own stand out of steel and powdercoated it the same colour as my speaker stands (Also made at work).
the photo below showss it sort of but is a bad photo i will take a couple of better ones and post them.

I definately think i will put the inevitable screen behind the beam as you say too

Re: My first effort!!!

This was my solution, apologies for the poor photo. My wifes mobile phone does not make the best camera.

you can just make out my q acoustics centre speaker underneath and the 1010's either side.

Re: My first effort!!!

That looks good mate.
I made one similar in steel but but found with my already had quite a high AV Cabinet it raised it too high so opted for the one i did now.
I say us AV fans are resourceful types arent we!!!!
