Student (Budget) Lounge Setup

Our home cinema on a budget in our uni flat is finally set up, so I though I'd post some photos!

Sony KD-32DX40U 32" CRT
Virgin Cable TV
Sony Playstation 2 & 3
Microsoft Xbox
Nintendo Wii
Marantz SR7001
Fronts- Celestion 9
Centre- B&W 2000 IFS
Surround- Mission 731
Sub- Mission MS8
Logitech Harmony 688 (Still to be configured)
Some makeshift speaker stands from cardboard boxes!

I also connect my MacBook Pro for watching videos, playing music etc.

The AV receiver, speakers, PS2 and Xbox are mine. The Wii and PS3 belong to housemates. We chipped in for the TV, tables and AV unit and lamps, the leather recliners were supplied by the landlord.

Look forward to hearing comments!

Not a bad set up but I if there was an award up for tidiest student flat in the history of all time you would win hands down.

Get the speakers off the cardboard boxes as soon as possible and onto something more solid and I am sure they are wobbling about like hell which wont be helping. Other than that I would just take a seat, sit back and enjoy

Re: Student (Budget) Lounge Setup

Thanks for the comments. We like to keep things tidy because it saves hassle and rather than letting everything pile up and having to spend hours cleaning!

The cardboard box speaker stands are temporary (they seem to do the job though!) We don't really have the volume that loud because being in a flat we don't want to disturb others.

cdm22, the stand with the AV receiver/Xbox is called Eina, from Ikea. Technically, it is a bedside table but it fits my AVR nicely and was only £15!
