blakey0's little slice of AV heaven

I've been a long time forum lurker but today is the day I decided to upload my small contribution to all things AV.

We have fairly small lounge, so space is at a premium and dictates the kit on display. I'm a little partial to Sony as you will see from the kit list below.

I'm generally happy with what we've got as we're working on a tight budget, but any suggestions happily received:

Display - Sony KDL 40W2000 (still going strong)
Audio - Sony GHT G900 integrated speaker stand
TV - BT Vision
HTPC - Sony VGX TP1e (running Vista & MediaBrowser plug-in + 1.5TB storage)
Gaming & Blu-Ray- Sony Playstation 3: 60 gig
HD Video - Toshiba HD-EP30
Kit Management - Logitech Harmony One

Thanks for looking!

Nice one mate I've been thinking for a while about entering into the world of HTPC and like the look of the Sony VGX TP1e. Shame I can't find them in stock anywhwere.

I know what you mean, mine was a display model/ manager's special in the local Sony shop which I haggled down to a reasonable price. It's a nice looking piece of kit but needed an immediate RAM upgrade and doesn't have the benefit of a blu-ray drive which is a shame.

I entered the world of HTPC's in March and it's almost consumed me....in a good way obviously

Lovely room- very tidy and I love Sony stuff too! If I had to change anything- it would be for a bigger tv.

Hi Blakey...

Could you link me to the Media Browser plugin you're using specifically?

I really like the look of yours, i'm using the standard media browser at the moment and i'm not a fan.

Great setup there mate

Having all my Blu Rays, HD DVDs and SD DVDs available like that is something i've wanted for ages but never been able to get my head around the codecs etc.

Is that stand the G800? I had it for over a year, fantastic bit of kit, really good looking - the missus wanted to keep it as a coffee table

I'm using the Vanilla theme and version 2.010 of MediaBrowser. I tried version 2.1 but found it cached the images far too slowly. Everything else you see is just tweaks to the program, so I'm using my own background and also converting the poster art using the Stark program (which you can find instructions to use on the MB forum).

If a search for version 2.010 comes up blank PM me.

It's actually the G900 which is almost the same. I know it'll never be a match for a full 5.1 system, but with limited space I think it's an amazing piece of kit and the 'virtual' surround actually works pretty well.
